Biggers was a great school. I graduated in 1978 and would not trade my education there for any other school. Even though we didn't have foreign language classes there, Kent Lindsay was one of the best English teachers there ever was. My husband has asked me before how I know the meanings of so many words that ordinary people never use and I told him "from Mr. Lindsay's spelling tests".
JM Edington was probably one of the best Math teachers in this area. When I went back to college when I was 43 years old, I was amazed at the things that I had remembered all those years. I could hold my ground in both English and Algebra with the recent high school graduates. Now that says alot about how I was taught in the small school of Biggers-Reyno! One of the educational problems that our children and grandchildren now face are that they are just a number in the larger schools and there is no personal attention given to them. It is sad that our government could not realize the benefits of the small schools.

Probably more people from Bigger don't give a crap about Peach Orchard than there of you not giving a crap about them. Who on earth would really want to lived in Peach Orchard. What do you have there other than probably some of your own furnishing the crack? I graduated from Biggers and loved it. Hated to see it close.

My heart is heavy each time I drive by the empty school. It was a great school and I wish my children had been given the chance to know how awesome it was. They go to Pocahontas and it's a good school but you don't have the same feeling as you did when you walked into the school building at Biggers. I miss so much about it.

I graduated in 1977 from Biggers. My daughter graduated from there, but the school closed before my son graduated. He chose to go to Maynard, which is an okay school, but does not compare to Biggers. Teachers actually cared about the children and their education. I feel that my daughter received the best education that could ever be. She had many opportunities to excel in whatever she wanted. My son had a learning problem and the school worked with me everyday on this. I was devastated when the school closed and to consolidate with Corning was unreal! I don't know why they just didn't leave us alone!
