On Sept. 5, 2012, former Lunenburg, Mass. police officer Jason P. Poitras appeared as a criminal defendant in Leominster District Court. During the course of being cross-examined, Poitras offered perjured testimony regarding his knowledge of pending criminal charges against Lunenburg resident and Gartner analyst Christine Tenneson.
Prior to Poitras's multiple appearances in court for assault, perjury, and intimidation of a witness, the Worcester County District Attorney's Office, and State Police Detectives James Nanof and Rick McKeon failed to investigate Poitras, and former Lunenburg Police Chief Dan Bourgeious for obstructing justice and withholding evidence in the criminal case involving Tenneson.
Poitras, Bourgeious, and Tenneson were also defendants in a 2011 federal civil rights lawsuit. Poitras was fired in 2013. Bourgeious was forced to resign in 2012.
