Hello,
I'm in the Coast Guard, and I'm writing to see if I could get overhaulin to work their magic on my dads project car. It's a 1979, 928 Porsche; He had hope to do a hot rod thing with it,while keeping the classic design.
My dad raised me as a single parent. The last two years have been tough for him. Last year, My Step mom decided to separate from my dad after thirteen years of being together, and this year he was laid off.(I'm not suppose to know but my future wife told me about my dad, had said he didn't want to burden me with worry)What, so amazing about him, is that he is so supportive of me and my problems, and being away from home. He's just an amazing person.
I'm about to get married next year, before I go to Iraq on patrol,it's for a short tour. My dad makes my fiancee feel great and he knows what to say when I'm feeling down and alone. He comforts my future wife, while I'm away. My future wife is my high school sweetheart and long distance relationships are extremely tough by itself and then add the complications that being in the military bring. let's just say It's tough on all of us; I'm extremely proud to serve my country, but my future wife and my family sacrifice a lot for me to serve.
My dad is my hero, he keeps me grounded and knows how to lighten up my days when I'm down. My dad has been great with all his stuff that's going on in his life, he always put me first, and I feel so special and proud to have him as my dad. He's always upbeat, and finds a positive attitude that no matter what happens he finds the positive upside of things.
My Dad, loves to work on his cars, he just took a 1982 corvette and restored it back to factory, which I was amazed at his dedication, I saw how he lit up when he got her (1982 corvette) to turn over after four years of working on it. He was so dedicated to getting her to start and run while being there for the family. He's close to finish that project up with some odds and ends that need to be done like a paint job and a radio installation. Plus I think if anything happened to that car he probably would just shit kittens. For some reason he's created a super bond to that car while working on it.
He is a big part of who I am today. I would love to be able to give him a dream car. Something that would show him how much I love him.
I ask your help to make this dream come true, let me give something back to my dad that I know would be an incredibly gift and show him, the love, I feel for him as my dad.
Thanks for your time
