America’s day of mourning is cause for celebration for these payroll patriots.

OUTRAGE!!! Totally exploiting the Tragedy. Mr. Costa has no shame. What a disgrace. I could not be anymore disgusted. When does the entitlement end? Who the hell do these people think they are?
I don't know Mr. Costa's agenda I'm just catching wind of this contract development now (my head is spinning), but I suspect that he is also a BIG proponent of traffic details too, if you know what I mean.
I am soo sick of these police and firefighters in these small little municipalities through out the country trying to ride the glory coat tails of those lost on 9/11. This was a tragedy for all Americans, just like hundreds of other tragic events involving the loss of American life since our inception. Many of these events not marked or memorialized as a payed municipal holiday, although just as tragic to those who where personally affected by the loss.
Many Professions have inherent danger associated with them. Fisherman ,carpenters, loggers, heavy equipment operators, ect, ect., all playing their part in helping sustain our economy and our way of life as Americans. When tragedy strikes in any of these professions their is no payed holiday. Why are they different?
In life, there is Tragedy.
If those police officers want to honor there "brothers". they should work their shift, celebrating their own lives and their ability to protect and serve...and collect a nice paycheck, enhanced with that lucrative traffic detail pay.
If only I could hear just one police officer or fire fighter publicly proclaim that the real motivating factor for entering their civil service job is primarily the good pay, and if it means I get the opportunity to protect and serve my community ,well all the better, I would have the utmost respect for that honesty. Their is nothing wrong with making that proclamation.
