Old Mount Hope Middle School destroyed by fire

An early morning blaze destroyed the old Mount Hope Middle School Wednesday, and fire officials deemed the blaze suspicious.

No the sad part is the town has no chief to direct his officers to conduct a proper investigation on the suspected arson...If it can be solved by not leaving the antique shop or his favorite Italian restaurant he frequents, the perpetrator or perpetrators can be apprehended.

What is the story on the building? someone has said it has been sold.

Could the fire have been for Urban Renewal for the Historic District?????? Only a large grant from the Federal Goverment can salvage that structure or complete the demolition. Which makes me wonder if Mount Hope Chief of Police determined if it was arson ,spontaneous combustion or a lightning strike ??? I would be willing to bet there were plans for historic use of the property a long time before the fire....Well, better known as the master plan.....

i went to school there it was a wonderful school and had one of the best gyms ever ,

I attended Mount Hope Middle school. Alot of memories good and bad. Every teacher I had was very nice except one. I hated to see it destroyed.
