Over 2,500 without power in three RI communities
According to a spokesperson from National Grid, over 2,500 Johnston, Cranston and Providence residents are without power Monday evening after three high-powered tension lines were down at the intersection of Atwood Ave and Central Ave in Johnston.

Umm the spokesman has it wrong. The "downed lined" happened after the transformers became overloaded and caused a fire on the lines which then downed the lines. The lines were fine until the power surge/transformers became overwhelmed and caused the substantial fire. Obviously they are trying to distance themselves from a "my bad" scenario.
