I was told that you reported that Sand Springs found the missing boys from Pawnee County, when in fact it was Peninsula Fire, North 48 Fire and Cleveland Fire Departments in the search for the boys. Peninsula Fire was in command and drew in all resourses needed. Search incured and the boys were found shortly after.

Thank you for updating this story. The young men involved in this story were unbelieveably brave and handled this situation with such maturity. I am lucky enough to be one of the mothers and I am so proud of these guys. I want to express my gratitude and appreciation again to the people involved in the search and rescue. These professionals were incredible.

Sand Springs, though a very competent Fire Department, was not at all involved in rescue efforts of the four missing children. Those involved were the men and woman of Peninsula Fire Department, north 48 Fire and Cleveland Fire. As well as efforts of Pawnee County Sheriffs Department and Cor of engineers.

I'm so glad they corrected the original story. More glad, however, that the kids were found and are back home safe and sound!

A Special Thanks to everyone involved in the rescue of our grandson Brad and his friends. From the Fire Depts...Police Dept...Sheriff's Dept...Cor of Engineers...The detective friend who responded immediately when our daughter Wendy called him...Family and Friends who made the calls, asking for prayers, around the world (literally). And most of all...To our Heavenly Father who heard our cry, and answered our prayers.

I to am thankful the boys were found safe and unharmed, however Is is really safe in todays time to allow 12 year olds to ride with out an adult being able to visual see them? Not to me.

Great they were found. I have one problem
"They were under adult supervision"
No.. No they weren't. 12 year old boys riding off alone are NOT being supervised.

This was not their first time to ride at the trails, these boys and the adults have been riding the trails for the last 3 three years. FYI, there were three 12 boys and one 14 year old boy. They were experienced and had good knowledge of the trails. At the time (5:00pm), the two adults and the 4 kids were the only ones riding that day. Every one was equipped with safety gear, clothing, tools, gas, and a cell phone with a GPS system on it. When the one boy switched his motocross bike with to an ATV, he forgot to switch the cell phone over to the ATV. So Concerned and Proskene... YES, there was adult supervision...These parents are always doing things with their kids. Quit being the armchair quarterbacks of the world without a clue to real life situations. I am sure everyone has been lost one in their life.

Many thanks to the Peninsula Fire Department and the many Volunteers. Mark did an excellent job keeping control and organizing the search.
