There are also other types of music out there to experience in concert. Wouldn't it be refreshing to see some great blues, or classic rock, or any other great music styles performed in Carlsbad? I don't know about you, but I can't eat the same food everyday. The same goes for the music I listen to. Doesn't anyone ever get tired of hearing one type of music all-the-time?

I realize they are an legendary Texas band, but I saw them at the Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin (where they played ALL OF THE TIME!), thirty years ago, & they bored me to tears.I might give them another chance tho..........

Honestly I'm starting to get sick of this...would you people be happier if there were no acts coming to town?? Guy this and Guy that..oh this band sucks...why doesn't he bring in this band....blah blah blah!!! I don't see any of you out there trying to do what he does on a daily basis...stop bitching about it and go do something about it..why don't you get out there and try to book an act and then you come and tell me how easy it is!! At least he is trying to bring something positive to this town!!!

Isreal, you know the story...Have you folks ever wondered why Moses and the Isrealites wondered in the wilderness for 40 years....They complained about what God gave them...they weren't happy with anything, and wanted to go back to Egypt to be slaves. It was what they were used to. "IF WE COMPLAIN, WE WILL REMAIN.....IF WE PRAISE, WE WILL BE RAISED." In other words, we should find the good, and work from there...if we find fault, we either need to try to change it respectfully, or let it be..Some things just are.

*sigh* Yeah, it would be nice to have a not-Country band to come here, but I'm not really sure how much control Guy really has over that. I mean, what non-Country/Christian band would want to come to Carlsbad, when they could just do a show in Albe-Q and get out of this state as fast as possible.

Anyway, Asleep at the Wheel's music is truly terrifying. Yikes.

talk about negative! Just because I don't like any kind of country or western music does not mean that others who like it should not enjoy it. I think that any kind of entertainment that comes to town is a good thing, it gives thoes people who like that kind of music something to do, just like I am not a metal fan anymore at least we have had some interesting groups come in for that too. Do I think Guy could do better? Sure but we all do our best and maybe these country and western acts are the best that he can get for us. Not everyone wants to coeme to Carlsbad it is out of the way and not really on any huge band circut. Not easy to attract people to a community that does not have alot to offer so at least Guy is doing what he can.

ok correct me if I am wrong, but I think that the Griffeth's and their radio station and work are the ones who bring in the Christian groups to Carlsbad, then we have Guy who brings in the country music, I have seen different metal bands play in different places of Carlsbad but not the Weller. Maybe if more people would band together and have someone sponcer a group you could get a different kind of band here to play. didn't Crome in the Park have band play? it is not that we don't have groups coming to town to play we just don't advertise well or support them well.
