I've been reflecting on this for some time now and I have to say that I am very curious as to what happened to the closeness that this community once had? I remember growing up here and my parents always had some one nearby that they could call on in a pinch. Now it seems that everyone is out for themselves, looking for what they can steal from their neighbor, rather than what they can put back into the community. After returning from my entry training in the army five years ago I thought that I would settle up here and raise a family. Now that I have four children of my own I've begun to very seriously consider moving on to somewhere else. It seems that petty grievances and dishonesty have poisoned the community as a whole. My question to you as fellow residents is what's happened to us and can it be fixed?

I agree it isnt the same town i am 19 i was born and raised in patton and i wish i could raise my son there. But Patton isnt the great little town that it used to be! I used to be able to walk into the junction and everyone was nice and wanted to know how my day was goin, how school was, why i wasnt in school that day, and if my grandma knew i was using that kinda talk, And now they just hurry up n try to get you outta there so they can continue to bitch bout what the other empolyee did last week! At least when u drive down the road everyone still waves! Patton is my home town n i love this town dearly but why would anyone want to continue to live in a town that everyone is better than everyone, and ppl steal from their nabors and ppl talk crap on the ppl the have worked with at the old juction store for the last 10 years! We do need a change, a change for the better befor this town goes to sh** and the hogs eat it lol thats what my grandma always said!

Yes I have to agree it's not the same place but I think that's because all the "good" people have grown up and moved off or have families and the youth of today has gone to he'll in a hand basket! They all think they are owed something and don't need to work or pay for it. And that's where the rude attitudes come from. Kids drop out, get pregnant, or just don't care anymore because parents are trying so hard to give kids what they didn't have without them learning the value of a dollar or how to earn it. I know this sounds like a rant and it kind of is because parents have changed Soooo much now days kids get away with back talking, cussing, and walking all over their parents there is no structure anymore.
