Reach out to your family and do it immediately befire the ill effects on your fmailies health are irreversible. The energy you are gon to expend to "get this guy" arent worth it. Spend those precious moments with your kids. You are renters ( as I) and we never win.. the $ in legal fees will be better spent on your kids.
good luck. the good guys dont always come out on top

Why did they decide to move into a home that had obvious water leaks? If there is so much mold, it must have been there back in July when they moved in.

you know instead of every body playing the silly blame game someone should offer advice to them on a possible place for them to stay and for how long will it be to clean up the mold? will it be livable again? someone out there could offer them space if I had room I would! My prayers are with all of them in this situation and I do not even know anybody involved! It's just the right thing to do!

That landlord should be ashamed trying to collect back rent. They shouldn't give him a dime.

that mold could be the result of bad insulating practices and vapor barrier issues as well. more than the landlord being at fault i would like to see the towns plan review and the inspector's report on the builder. LIBI wants to implant stricter energy codes, stricter than the state requires, and the builders cant even get the current codes andd SKILLS down that they need now. this mold is classic symptoms of a poorly ventilated building envelope. keep hiring those guys out of the pennysaver and their "inexpensive" helpers, and subs.

Shame shame on the landlord. Everyone, including renters deserve a healthy enviroment to live in.

Why would you stay??????? I know moving costs money but you haven't paid rent in how long????? I bet you will stay until that very last day until you are forced out! Maybe once you get out the landlord can fix the problem correctly. Sounds to me like a family of free loaders..

if it so bad why did it take them so long to move out? especially when thier child is coughing blood. And if they have $100,000 of possessions they can afforst to buy a hosue not rent. Another bunch of scammers trying to use the legal system as a piggy bank. So glad I moved out of Long Island

I agree with you. They have all that money saved up from not paying rent. They could find another place. Seems like they are trying to get as much out of it as they can. A normal family would have gotten out immediately before everything got contaminated. Yeah right $100,000 worth of things... sure!

Your daughter is coughing up blood? Are you kidding me? And you stayed this long. That is just wrong. I know that it is hard to afford a home on Long Island, but there are plenty of rentals. Finding a four bedroom like they have might not be easy, but your daughter is couhing up blood. Seems like the parents aren't much better than their slumlord.

Who are these people trying to kid? They chose to stay and not pay rent so they could get a nice fat lawsuit against the owner. They are putting money before their children's health... and don't tell me they couldn't find another place to live - yeah right!

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Taurus

Someone gets in a bit of a muddle today and it could take some unravelling. For instance, they might get their wires crossed, leading to all sorts of misunderstandings. You might also encounter someone who is trying to rewrite history, perhaps because they can't bear to remember things as they really were. Should you set them straight or leave well alone?
