I think they should be tried as adults. They knew what they were doing. If they aren't going to be held responsible who will? Slapping them on the wrist and giving them a few months in DH isn't going to do anything. My heart goes out to the families and those they hurt and tot he familie sof these young men.

Just totally sad - that these boys didn't see anything better in life than to rob and shoot people. So many lives wasted. Shame on you and where was Barber's parents that he was on a braclet, cut it off, and they had no clue where this kid was - Shame on you too.

The 15-year old boy had a electronic device on him already but cut it off...what good did that do in keeping track of his activities; didn't detour him from other crimes. Sorry, they should both be charged as adults...they murdered someone and shot another person and who knows what else they might have done (or where planning). You do the crime, do the time.

You are right. Most of them think JDC is cool. The wrong way of thinking of course, but they will sadly think they have some thing to brag about.

Put the parents in prison and send the boys to 2 year boot camp. I am talking the old 1950's style boot camp none of this namby pamby JDH. After that monitor them for 20 years and even one violation sends the to prison for life!

The kid was old enough to know to cut off the monitoring bracelet and then they robbed and killed one man and shot another child. Try them both as adults. Let them spend the rest of their long lives behind bars. These are little thugs that have obviously been given their one get out of jail free card. They've tried younger kids as adults. Bet your ass if the man they attempted to rob and shot and killed had pulled a gun and shot or killed either of these two little thugs, it would be hands across America for them.

These two are a disgrace. They need to be punished as adults because if they aren't then even if they were to get LIFE as a juvenile, they could be out by the time they are 21 yrs old. That's a life sentence in juvie. Unless the courts roll over the time to adult prison, they'll be out to reoffend.

I don't know how you teach kids to care about things or people but I do know it starts when they are young. The parents didn't do their job and now a family is without a loved one. I wish the Dispatch would interview these parents - the problem starts with them and ends with everyone else paying the price.

Come on where are the parents of these two, and yes, I am blaming it on the parents as well as the kids. As parents we may not do everything right and our kids may do things that we do not approve of but kids that are raised with any kind of morals would know that these actions were wrong. Please parents get off your @$$ES and raise your kids with some kind of morals or actions like these will continue and only get worse.

they should figure out how they got the gun and who was giving them the bullets!! I carry but if these two kids came up to me they would probably shoot me first because I would be very hesitant to shoot a kid! and if i did before they shot i'm sure i'd get charged even if they had a gun!
