It is not right to take away a church from people who have lost everything from Katrina. Now you want to take away their church. Come on let the parishoners have their church back. Sacred Ground.

I would like to see the St. Paul Church
put back on the beach because I beleive it is what the people want and what is the church without the congregation. I do beleive if you take the emotion out of the choice that Father Dennis is correct.
Being a native of Pass Christian and knowing what it is to be flat on my back many times, I wish for St.Paul's to come back for the healing of the congregation and the town as St.Paul's is a vital part of the community. It is where you feel your soul and history belong so I am praying for peace for St. Paul's and the whole community. I am a non member. Good Luck and Peace!!!!!!!! Liz

My family has been part of community and the church for over 150 years and has given they time and money to St. Paul's. I will never understand the reasoning behind the move. The Parishioners has gone thur enough these past years, don't put salt in their wounds Father Dennis.

I am sorry the people of St. Paul's feel the way they do. This storm gave us an opportunity to grow and unite together. I feel that where ever the church is built the people will come. We should worship together as a whole. The ugly words and actions of the people disturb me and I can only ask "What would Jesus Say"? Let it go and grow with this and celebrate that we have a place to go worship. God is giving us this opportunity to move forward. The land on the beach should have a rememberance of what was and the new church on the new land should show a new beginning. Lets celebrate that!!!!

This hullabaloo is exactly why I will never associate myself with an organized religion.
My God is on the beach and doesn't need a building. Dollar motivated decisions by dollar motivated clerics who want you to stay true to the church so that dollars will come in to ensure the circle of dollars continue. Wake up folks. This has nothing to do with God, just dollars.

This yet is another situation that shows people have still not coped with their losses and forever changed ways of life. Some heal on their own, some need professional help and hopefully we will all be healed in time. Family and friends should be the focus not a pile of concrete and steel. This is a terrible location to rebuilt because of the danger from storms.

I too have lost a home,a way of life, watched my 88 year old blind mother try to understand the loss of her home, my sister's loss of her home, my neighbors loss of their homes as a result of Katrina. I have lost loved ones in my life in the past, My father, my wife, my unborn children, my mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, stepfather, sister-in-law. I have suffered loss, I am not fully healed mentally, but thank God, I am recovering. Some people can recover on their own, some need professional help. It is sad to see people grieve so terribly over earthly material things when your loved ones should be center of focus. Look around and see if you are not pushing them away.
