Has any see all the new homes being built in the Pass with federal money? Most of the labors there are Mexican and the ones that are not are from out of state.

I have no problem with mexican's working in the states to provide for there family, but they have to do it legally.

How can these contractors afford to pay for people to come from out of town to work? It costs about 5.00 an hour to bring labor in from out of town to work.

I've seen it and more. And I agree with you. Too many Americans under 65 years of age are hurting with no jobs, no form of health coverage and no future due to the national debt.

Companies who hire illegal workers should be reported.

Is the company building your marina or seawall local? Who awarded the contract?

Perhaps there better qualified? Just because there from out of state doesn't diminish there need to work, they have to support there families as well. Since it's federal money, the government typically will post the contract/statement of work to everyone nationally, not just in the local area. Every one gets a bite at the apple, Best bid gets the job.

'THEY ARE' better qualified. Doesn't diminish 'THEIR' need to work.

Out of state AMERICAN workers are not a problem "whatever". Companies who hire illegals instead of Americans are a BIG problem. Companies hiring illegals will be reported. Does your company employ illegal undocumented Mexican workers?

Okay. You've got two people, Joe McHighSchoolDropout and Jose Nojuego.

Joe wants $15/hr for his work, plus benefits. He's going to stretch his hour lunch break into an hour and a half, complain about the heat, get a wall framed in two weeks, and his work is going to fall apart in a matter of days.

Jose wants $8/hr for his work. Benefits don't have to be provided. He'll eat quickly and get back on the job when he's supposed to. He won't complain about the weather, he'll do his work in a timely manner, and he'll actually put effort in and do a pretty good job.

When it comes down to it, who would you want to hire? The expensive labor who does a crappy job in a lackadaisical manner, or the cheap labor who will give you quality work in a timely manner?

If American workers were content with doing the same quality of work in the same time frame as these illegal immigrants and were comfortable being paid about the same as they are, it wouldn't be so much of a problem.

Not to mention, illegals generally take jobs that most American citizens wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole... those who are unemployed usually aren't looking into construction, farm labor, and domestic services, which is where many illegals are getting jobs.

If you're tired of illegals "stealing all the jobs" then man up and go apply for them yourself. It's in the employer's best interest to hire the better prospective employee. Make the better employee YOU and then you won't have to whine and complain about your job being stolen.

I agree 100% But there are law that prevent employers from hiring illegals. The american work force has become very lazy. I myself have a good skilled trade job, but its only a matter of time before the illegals become legal and take skilled trade jobs as well. I have n problem with legal workers. I just dont see why alll this money is being taken out of town
