I followed a driver down Lakeshore Rd. last Thurs. who was so impaired, I felt compelled to call 911. Again, on Sat., I followed another who was weaving all over and forcing oncoming traffic to take the shoulder. Both instances occurred in the middle of the day, not late at night. I think it's time for Hancock County to increase law enforcement patrols on this highly traveled road before someone gets killed.
Funding. Funding is the issue for every agency in our county. It isn't the departments fault but something the public needs to bring to the supervisors, alderman, and councilmen of this county's attention. More funding provides more officers which allows for more proactive enforcement.
