If anyone wishes to see how inept Obama is on this disaster just google " Dutch offer help" and "Maine oil booms". After reading this information I asked myself where in the hell is the media on this? They are protecting Obama.
After all the incompetent leadership Obama has provided in the last 18 months, I now believe it is calculated. This guy knows exactly what to do to get this country so far down a socialist path that we may never be able to come back. And the MSM is helping him. Elections have consequences so we must have conservative control of congress in 2010 to begin the process of restoring this country. It is amazing how much damage the democrats have done since 2006

Similarly, its amazing how many people seem as hell bent on destroying our country as Obama. Where do they come from?

Pure gold from the comments section as always. Did I just hear Republicans say we should let foreign governments come in and clean up? And don't bother with that environmental impact statement before burning. Only communists and hippies breathe air, so it can't possibly harm anything to put that oil into the atmosphere instead of the ocean.

You left wing liberal wack jobs sat around for 8 years waiting for a spill you could use to shut down all the wells. Your intent is to turn our wonderful country into a communist/socialist/marxist wasteland. The emergency plan was APPROVED years ago and rereview annually. Your boy Obumpstaed and his gang of tax cheats/anarchists/marxist/terr orists etc had plenty of time to change it. Now when our country is being ruined by your delaying tactics you shout about IMPACT STATEMENTS, thereby proving what we all know, you hate the USA and only wish for it's downfall.

Why not let them come in and help if they are willing?

Poll: Louisianans think Bush did better on Katrina than Obama’s doing on the oil spill

Our new Louisiana poll has a lot of data points to show how unhappy voters in the state are with Barack Obama's handling of the oil spill but one perhaps sums it up better than anything else- a majority of voters there think George W. Bush did a better job with Katrina than Obama's done dealing with the spill.

Contrary to a lot of the nonsense written about Obama regarding BP's oil spill, the spill was not calculated and is not being used to divert America into some socialist path.(Honestly, some of you clowns talk worse than my little girl, and she's not two yet.) At the end of the day, this spill was caused by human error. That's why it is so dangerous to drill in the ocean. None of us knows when human error will result in an oops or a tragedy. Moreover, it is difficult for the President to stop the spill because the well is still leaking!!!! When the Exxon Valdez spilled oil, there was a finite fluid ounce of oil to spill, which was whatever the ship stored. This oil rig went down while still drilling for oil, and the oil is literally coming up from the bottom of the ocean, several miles below sea level. It would be easy to stop this spill if the Gulf of Mexico was drained and the well wasn't so deep. But, it is too deep for nonmechanical devices to do anything, and until they shut the well off completely, it will still spill oil. Grow up, read a book, and stop playing with the peace pipe.

What, you are advocating people use their brains instead of bashing the president? What kind of talk is that?

I don't beleive anything was intentional. I don't blame Obama for the accident. I don't think it's his fault. It's BP's fault. What I do blame Obama for is his response. It has been way to slow. The admin refused the Dutch offer for help. He has yet to temporarily lift the Jones act (It's been done before) so that materials and equipment can come right from the source. Instead the equipment has to be re-loaded onto U.S. ships before it can be deployed which is an absolute waste of time. There are so many agencies that nobody knows the proper chain of command. That's his responsiblity. He is going to finally meet with the head of BP. It's something he should have done weeks ago instead of almost 2 months into the disaster. A phone call would have sufficed. Leadership is what is lacking and that goes right to the top.

OIL IS GOOD FOR BIRDS AND FISH!

3 July 2010 (Reuters) In a stunning, just released case study, a group of Caribbean scientists have found that birds and fish exposed to crude oil and survive the experience become better adapted to oil spills through evolution.

"We are very excited about the preliminary findings," said Dr. Steven Coleman of the Petroleum Institute of Trinidad and Tobago, "This means that if oil spills continue, birds, fish and other wildlife will become adapted to it, possibly even utilizing crude oil as food. If such trends continue, it is theorized we could even see fish happily swimming around in pure crude oil within a decade."

There have already been observations of several pelicans, whose beaks hold more than their bellies can, greedily gobbling up delicious beach side tar balls and chasing the morsels with lighter crude, floating on the surface of the Gulf of Mexico.

"Crude oil is energy-packed and full of vitamins, minerals, and complex carbohydrates. In addition, crude oil is also very low in cholesterol," a slurring Doctor Coleman added at the end of the interview, taking another swig from a bottle of rum.
