There is this house in the neighborhood at 323 ballentine st that is section 8 that has all types of people living there. Loud noises and arguments in the street. Calls to bay st louis housing authority and was told it was not one of their houses. I was told it could be regional. Called gulfport and they were so rude and sounded almost angry that I wanted to report something. I dont know what my options are and you are pretty much perceived a racist when you try to save the fabric of your neighborhood.

The bay st louis website is down to get number of your councilman in your area. This city is going down real fast and new low income housing on spanish trail and then ballentine st. Should I sell now before those housing units are built. Homeowners have no rights I see and when you cant even find an avenue to even voice your concerns and you pretty much got to investigate the person to file a complaint a house its that much more difficult. When theres multiple people and constant traffic at this house it would make anyone nervous. come see for yourself .

any help with who to contact would be helpful

The owner of the house said she isnt saying if its section 8 or not.Shes married to a black man and seemed irritated and i should have expected that response but she doesnt have to live with it.
She basically told me thats not my problem fight it out with your neighbors or call the police. Those were her words. f u ''k me pretty much..

Isn't section 8 under the HUD program. Willing to bet that multiple families are not permitted and there has to be some sort of regulation. Honestly i'd call the police and start a paper trail on this neighbor of yours. It's not about being racist no matter how everyone else interpets it.

My advice to you and take it for what it's worth is sell now, i'm selling as well. It's only gonna get worse, ten years from now this area will be like new orleans east. We didn't have all of this low income housing before the storm, if i'm wrong someone that's been here more than twenty years roger up and correct me. This area is going down the Sh**t tube fast.

Everyone can call it racisism, i've been called alot worse; but i got three children two of who that are teenagers that i won't let out of the neighborhood for fear of what might happen. Screw those who see a problem with this. This is what we get when government programs and handouts are dramatically taking individual responsiblity away and holding them accountable. You wonder why some people aren't working?? because there making more in unemployment, food debit cards, subsidized housing, medical, dental, and on and on. It really starting to get out of control.

If i were you look up the regional HUD office in BSL/waveland and file a formal complaint. If i here of anything else i'll post it.

Welcome to the new and improved Bay St. Louis! The appartments behind Domino's are all section 8 as well the new ones behind Pinky's in Waveland. Most have been earmarked for the poor, displaced 3rd and 4th generation public housing folks fron the 9th ward in New Orleans! Wanna make a bet the next 2 years will see a skyrocket in our crime rate?
Yes, I know I will be called a racist, a bigot, a sexist or whatever kind of "ist" these liberals can think of but....I DARE you to prove me wrong!

I didnt know all that was section 8.Did yall see the big mound of dirt on spanish trail . This area will double what use to be on washington st.I just dont understand why the city even wants to build more housing projects .I assume cause its being paid by the government. I dont see any benefit but i see alot of trouble coming. That whole area from main st to 90 to the tracks will be hell. Im done with this town .Section 8 is killing neighborhoods cause theres no enforcement. You get something damn near free you should be held to a higher standard or risk losing it.

Actually i grew up in the east late 80s went to abramson. Was nice and turned to hell. Best option move out all citiesand get some land .Bay st louis has lost its vision i see. The politicians seen a freebee and took the hook. Im moving out this fall ,we are moving to metairie which i can deal with louisiana folks. Im sorry but mississippi folks just got old ways that never left. No offense maybe cause im an outsider.

I'm glad that i'm not the only one to see what's coming our way. I plan to sell this fall and move a little further north up 603. It's hard to leave because of all the time spent rebuilding this house but enough is enough. Once the feds get there footing in it's hard for the politicians to turn money away I guess. I suspect everyone has a price, unfortunatly in our case they sacrified our community to get it.

We have too much of this housing now. It is only going to get worse. You need to move out of Hancock County. The only people that will be paying taxes are going to be the homeowners.

The "development" going on off of Old Spanish Trail is going to flood the neighborhood. Take a look at high they are building the ground up next time you ride by. The politicians have ruined this area. New New Orleans East yes we are.

I NOTICE no businesses moving in the bay even chain grocers dont want to move in. I dont know what to say about the bay anymore. It will be worse and it will be their own doing. All this public housing makes you think who are the politicians really listening to . I hear they building 18 units on ballentine street which would normally fit 3 houses with yards. You cant put a fence up in your yard without the bay bitching but they can put 18 units on a small residential street. Thats sad and people will move out and the dominoes effect will begin.
City council for the bay dont give a damn .Vote these bastards out.

I can tell you this much, let these SOB's hang out in my neighborhood. I've got so much invested in my house as do most of everyone else. I wish there was something that could be done to get this crap out of our town without having to drive a dozer through these mini ghettos. Anybody have any suggestions or recommendations, voting out is probably not going to happen.

These crooks we have are so slimy you can't get a good hold of them to give them the boot. Pieces of S**t, no backbone to to man up and get a job.

To the person who claims to have saw someone with a gun, Why in the hell, didn't you call the police? To everyone else that is on this thread talking about not wanting to be preceieved as being a racist, if you have to say that then you know you are racist!
You people are hilarious!!! get your facts straight before you put your opinion in print. I have worked for The Housing Authority for yrs, and let me say this, poverty has no color. Just because someone has Section 8 doesn't mean they are lazy lowlifes. The number of whites recieving subsidized housing would blow your minds. And as far as the house with a lot of occupants, that occurs often, but you have to realize, it doesn't just happen with blacks. Once we got a call similar to the one citizen made, everyone automatically assumed it was a black person, well shame on them, because it was a white girl, her sister and both of their white boyfriends, and seven children under the age of six, their mother and the mothers' boyfriend, again white, and they were selling meth, out of their section 8 hous. There was also families that worked everyday but still could not afford the cost of living. So before you assume that everyone who receives section 8, is a lazy bum, get the facts.

Well if you've worked in public housing for years maybe you can fix the system because it's obviviously broke! If you think we're racists, so what! I can tell you this with certainity, we've and that's all of us cause we are taxpayers that fund these programs are at fault. If I see something that's not right i do call the police and i assume most others do as well.

I've worked for everything i've got, supported my family because it's my responsiblity not the government. Where my wife works they've gone through 8 employees over the last 3 months; here's the rub. There LAZY.. I've heard them for myself. COMMMENT: I make more sitting on my A**, this work is to hard, it's to hot, etc.

We've created a generation of people who stick there hands out and expect the quality of lives that we who do work and pay for it have. You want to fix or change things, make them accountable for providing for there own livlihoods.

Maybe instead of throwning money at the problem, we can instead give them the tools to stand on there own two feet. It's not a white/black/other problem it goes much deeper than that. First step stop have all those kids and i'll never get how if they work along with subsidized housing, medical, and money for food, they still can't afford to live. I'm proof you can, can't have champaigne taste with a beer pocket book.

"you can't be serious" would you please tell me, what it is that you are doing to end poverty, other than blow hot air on topix. Everyone is quick to complain about the problem or issues but no one is willing to do anything about it, and calling the police is not doing something about it, ecspecially when the cheif is in "bed" with some of those housing recipients.

You have no room to talk about the people on this site. You have talked B/S about everyone and anyone under your "topix name". You tell people to speak "facts" but yet you talk CRAP.

Like every other government program Section 8 has good and bad. If you really worked for housing you would know this to be true.

You my dear need a life so you can stay out of others. You more then anyone has talked negative about everything. Try doing something positive for the community instead of finding fault with everything. If you hate it here why do you stay?

Apparently you must be confused, when I posted on the comment "section 8" I wasn't the one talking about something I knew nothing about, I know there is good and bad in that program if you would read what I wrote, that is exactly what I said, there are people that works two jobs, but because of other commitments, raising grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or even taking care of a special needs child, that someone may need assistance, I was not the one calling everyone who recieve assistant, "thugs" and gun toting drug dealers, that was your buddies. Furthermore, every word that I posted on topix is 100% truth. So check your facts before you try to call me out, "dear"!!!!!

Are you SERIOUS!!! your response is "what i'm i doing to end poverty". You pretty much answered my question, it is not my responsibility to end poverty!!!! Hot air my A** IT'S THE FRIGGIN TRUTH. Since when are you the authority or know who's sleeping with who. You got some nerve to make open ended and ambigious statements. You probably answer the phone or hear conversations that aren't ment for you "DEAR". Okay so what are you doing to end poverty. As a private citizen not an elected offical, tell us the ignorant masses what we should do, since your the authority and have beeen there and done that.

You know you don't know a damn thing about me; other than this post. I've spent the last 20+ years of my life serving my country, responding to natural disaster's, and doing my part to make this world a better place. What the F**K have you've done with your pitiful life!!!! Why don't you pull your bottom lip over your head and swallow. Even better how about not posting anything else, because you sound like a self absorbed egotistic idiot who has a i know best complex; and think the government should feed, cloth, house, and treat everyone as if there to stupid to make there own way.

Congrats, your the idiot of the month.

Looks like I hit a nerve. Seems to me you're the idiot, getting all worked up because you don't agree with what I have to say. You talk about saving the world and responding to natural disasters, but you haven't said anything about what you are doing to fix the problem that you continue to complain about. You "dear" are self absorbed narcissistic idiot. You say that I don't know adamn thing about you, well Tom I know more than you think I know and it has nothing to do with overheariing a phone conversation. And what do you know about my life? Not a damn thing. I have worked since I was 14 yrs old, never asked anyone for a damn thing and I work hard for what I have. Chinga tu puto madre!!!!!!

I think we are through here. As far as being self absorbed you asked and I answered. You never once answered any questions that everyone on this post asked, oh well. I deal with your type all the time, doesn't bother me what your think at all. You can curse me in your native language all you want(i hope your a documented workers and not one of your CHINOS), but when push comes to shove, you'll always be a piece of garbage. I think it's kinda funny you think you hit my nerve or think you know me by running your profile on me. Trust me you'd know if you hit it.

So tell me what have you done or what is your plan to end the broken system we have... All you do is call everyone idiots and blame all of is. Heck you even claim the police chief is sleeping with everyone. Where's your fact check. I hope your a girl because if your calling me dear and your a guy, that's just plain creepy.

Well Tommy Boy,This is another example of your racism, because I speak spanish, does that make me undocumented? NO it does not! Why is it, whenever I say something that you disagree with you have to call me names. I said what I said to you, in response to your name calling. It's funny you say all I do is call people idiots, but you was the one who called me a self absorbed egotistic idiot, you said my life is pitiful, you even called me garbage, but what do you know about me? NOTHING!!!!! Everytime you press a key you put your foot in your mouth. And by the way I am not Chinese(Chinos)
