Both the city of Bay St. Louis and former BPD Detective Joe Kepfer have appealed a recent decision by the city's civil service commission last month which ordered Kepfer be rehired at a lower rank.

Here we go again it seems like the sea coast echo is getting their story wrong, I can not image that. After reading the story I decided to do a little research of my own, and just as I said WRONG. The police chief did not hire JK back, this was a RECOMMENDATION from the Civil Service since there were no other major disciplinary letters on him in the past years that you can thank one of the old chiefs not the one before the dictator; they have now the one before the last chief. I was told he did not discipline anyone. But to the rest of the story I like the fact the lil dictator (chief) stood up to the mayor (who by the way picked the Civil Service ). And refused to let JK be a cop again, seems like the state will have to determine if JK can wear a badge. Now those folks up there are smart I figure they will go over this case with a fine tooth comb. So in my findings I had a chance to read the Civil Services order seems like the city was right its public record you all should find a copy,it is some good reading. My source tells me the lil dictator has assigned JK to the animal shelter that is all he will do , and even if he receives his badge back the lil dictator can assign him were ever he wants. So the rest of the story is far from over, I can truly say I am very glad I do not have to deal with all the drama anymore. I do have one question does the animal shelter have Ginny pigs, if they do I figure they will find a good home. enough until I find out more,

I know trying to figure this out also. I saw a copy of the civil service letter, and it looks to me they sided with the city on everything except the firing. I do not understand if they agree and mention several times findings saying he did it. why would they say he should return to work. if it is true the as you put it the lil dictator stood up to the mayor, I have a hard time believing that. At least you can say he stood his ground through the whole process, if it is right. Were he is working is a good place for him he can not bring any more discredit on the fine officers that work there. I use that word because it is used in the civil service r.
