Why are so many people parking cars in the front yards of their homes. It looks so bad and getto-ish. It kills the grass and some just mow around them. It also brings down the valve of the homes next them.
Who are all these people and why do they feel the need to do this. They have to know it looks bad, don't they.
We should take photos of the cars in the yards and post them in the photos of Pasadena section.

What do you think ????

I think most of the time it's that there are too many cars and not enough driveway. Some people are parking broken down cars in the grass for an extended period. Last I remember the city does not allow this and does tow them if they are left sitting, broken down, too long.

I think taking pictures of the houses with cars in their yards is a great idea. Make sure you put their address with the photo. Then maybe the city will do something about it. But don't count on it.
The best way I know to being down the valve of a subdivion is to trash it out.
Some people don't know any better or maybe they just don't care......CLEAN UP PASADENA NOW....

I almost waited to long to leave my old nieghborhood, the property value went down so low that we didn't think we would ever sell.
The people that started moving in on our street had it trashed out in about 5 years. Cars in the front yards, on more landscaping, houses falling apart. It can happen so fast . So if your street is starting to look like little Mexico then it's time to move. Let'em have it.For some reason I just don't think they really care!
And if that sounds raciest, I'm sorry. Just go look at the bad parts of Pasadena and tell me what you see, but this time open your eyes and dont play the race card everytime you here the word Mexican.

Drive down beltway from 225 to redbluff and you can see them from the road. no one is doing anything about this problem. the city may not allow it but their not anything to stop it. I say we just change the name to mexidena and give it to them.

I have talked with someone from the mayor action line, and they say that there is no law about not parking in your yard. Well, then the law needs to be changed. I work too hard on my yard, for my house and yard to look trashy because of neighbors parking in their yard. Deer Park does not allow this. I think something needs to be done, but not sure what to do about it. Any ideas?

I have spoken to the mayor action line, and they say there is no law about parking in your yard. I work too hard on my lawn, for my neighbors to make it look trashy with the cars parked in their yard. Maybe if enough people went to council meetings then they will do something about it. Deer Park does not allow this in their city.

This is NOT a Pasadena tradition at all.
It IS an illegal alien sanctuary house tradition though.

A house only 5 blocks from me has a single car driveway and carport. The carport is filled with junk and a family livingroom set. The driveway has 2 vehicles. The front yard has a travel trailer, a boat on a trailer, another vehicle parallel to them and 2 sideways on the yard parallel to the curb. ALong with the requiesite old tores and wheels, cardboard boxes of garage sale junk and miscellaneous bicycles etc.

When the city redtags the stuff, he gets rid of the junk, finds a temporary home for the trailers for a week or two and then brings the whole shebang back to make his neighbors crazy. Well, at least there aren't 30 people living there?

Grace, you must be an apartment dweller or a child because you don't think having cars, pickups, and even semi-cabs and dumptrucks, parked in the yards of houses in a neighborhood is doing any damage to property values.

DO some research and you'll find that this problem IS a problem in every way.

Grace, obviously you are one of the yard parkers since you don't have a problem with it. If so, have some repect for everyone else also.

Yeah I used to live in that section of town by preston and washington... really ugly neighborhoods. The value of that area has been taken down A LOT from what it used to be. Course the people doing it really don't care. They can't respect the way their own house looks so why care about the way it affects your neighbors.

I still don't care what race you are, if you park a car , truck or boat in your front yard your just trash. You don't care what others think and you don't care how you raise your children. Their going to do the same things you do.Thats how the cycle gets started, trash breds trash. You don't have to have allot of money to be clean , you have to care.
