My ex went to high school with his son and he was a terribly mean person to his family, a real SOB.

I wouldn't purchase anything with his name on it.

My in-laws used to live in Afshari estates. His son was into drugs and Afshari himself is a treat. I would not buy anything that was built by him. He used to pay off inspectors, etc. ...stay away

As posted in other thread, he is a piece of s#!t. My wife, without my knowledge of the landlord, signed a lease in a piece of his retail property. Brand new-not a single corner 90 degrees, floor not level, ceiling not level, huge whole in the "firewall" in attic. No air hooked up for weeks-wife calling daily for 3 weeks, I call and its hooked up the next day (VERY SEXIST). Electrical supremely messed up-had a two store front unit hooked up with with two electrical boxes "jumped" together, cost us $ to fix to pass city occupancy....

Every time we have called him for the last year he has been in California....we heard he was going to be selling all properties here and moving west....

I guess we can assume Mr. Afshari is not the bst kind of citizen.
I have also heard numerous rumors about his behavior from people close to him. Dated a woman a couple times many years ago who worked for him for a short time. She painted a picture that supports some of what has already been posted.
People are all different. The sad part is the differences are not always interesting or good.

Drove around the area this weekend since it is near Dunegant Park.

My Observations:

1)Some Afshari Estates condo units on Northport Hills dr. have sold for as little as $35,000 so you can make your own assumptions as to what kind of residents may be attracted to those condos.

2)All but maybe three of the homes in nearby Afshari Estates need to condemned and demolished. They just donít look like quality construction, some are abandoned and it looks like the Castle Point area.

Did some checking and most of the condo units in Afshari Estates are being rented out.

true most of them were sold to Avivi Heiman & Shoshana Heiman back in 2000. most of the unit went for about 35,000 but i assume that was bulk purchasing had discounts since they bought most of the units.

Mayor Lowery has ideas about annexing that area. Isn't that a nice fit??

Yes it appears the HEIMAN family likes to buy up cheap North County properties and not put much investment back into them while they enjoy living in their comfortable Ladue and Chesterfield residences.

this one for some reason has the name wrong under block shopper but http://revenue.stlouisco.com/IAS/ has it under Heiman Catherine M Samuel O H/h which is the same name as some of those condos are owned by.

Hey, it s a free market. All of these regulations just hinder entrepreneurs like the ones you have been talking about.
If we got rid of all the rules and regulations then none of the stuff the do would be illegal or uncommon.
These people are just doing what people do best, they look out for themselves.
You malign the workmanship in their projects but you forget about the many under-paid under-skilled workers who found a morsel toward their survival by working for these people.
They probably gave all of the work out to the lowest bidder or had it done by their own under-paid employees who didn't care.
That's smarter than hiring some of those over-paid union workers.
