The liquor lobby buys off the Annpolis Mafia, business as usual.

I'm constantly amazed at the levels of corruption and incompetence in the Democrat-controlled MD State government. When it comes to matters that are important to the very people they purport to serve, they either ignore their constituents in favor of their own agenda (i.e., raising taxes and fees instead of cutting spending) or they fumble, bungle, and sell out to special interests (cell phone/driving bill). But if you want to rename an airport or designate the "official State cake," man they are on it big time. They are lost in their own perceived self importance.

I wish they would have done something. I'm tired of having my alcohol shipped to Delaware. But since I buy all my big ticket items there anyway now thanks to greedy little Marty and his donkeyesque cronies, is no big deal.

Actually Maryland produces alcohol. Don't forget the old Segram Plant out on Washington Blvd. The state should be doing everything it can to get more jobs there, they could do 24 hour operations, which would mean 3 shifts of jobs. Our elected officials need to start putting the screws to the liquor lobby and get more jobs, more tax revenue and stop their own greed.

Not sure where figure of 100,000 murders a year in the US cited above is coming from. The correct figure appears to be 16,000-17,000, which is still an amazingly high rate, especially for such a wealthy country.
