Okay. I can see some stolen old copper pipes and the occasional aluminum lawn chair slipping through the system - but a TRACTOR TRAILER??????????

Scrap yards are just as guilty as the perps for buying this stolen junk. Isn't there such a law as per junkyards purchasing/receiving stolen goods. Or don't they have to ask questions/just play dumb? Tractor trailers (plural)...damn! Think I'll hit the docks in Bal'more, pirate a ship, and see if the junk yard will purchase it! About as stupid as these cases. Bail of $25,000 for a stolen t-trailer, wow! Knowing full well this is an exceptional sale and more so, an exceptional seller. Never see her again!
York, PA seems like an easy hit for the Bal'more aholes???

L.O.L. Don't you need a title? I take they drove them there. Why would anyone scrap a perfectly good tractor and trailer?

How did they do it without a title? I hate this scrap yards. Really. My metal stuff gets stolen all the time and I know exactly what's happening to it.

O.K. Makes sense. Even at 10cents a pound, A truck and trailer should way an average of 30,000 lbs. empty and should bring $3000.00, Not counting stainless steel and aluminum rims and other metals. They received $1600.00 which isn't bad considering they paid nothing for it.

And scrap yards don't have to check the VIN? Guess greed gets in the way of doing the right things.

Come take a walk with me and I'll show you my aluminum rain downspouts currently missing. There were there not too long ago and didn't walk off by themselves. Maybe you can also help me track down my aluminum storm door that went missing last summer.

I'm sure they didn't get more than a few dollars for the stuff, but the cost to buy and install new downspouts and a storm door costs about $500-$700.

I'm replacing with PVC downspouts from Home Depot in the spring.
