You do need to ask the question, why are there so many hit and run incidents in Southern California.

We don't know who the driver was, but it's just suspect. The driver did not stop and kept going.

How many of these incidents have been documented where the driver either had no license or insurance, was an undocumented alien or was drunk or on drugs.

I think it's just criminal and sickening that these drivers are racing around on our streets and killing and maiming people.

If you think your streets are safe, they're not.

To the family.... My thoughts and prayers have been with you all day. My Stomach sank when I heard that you were a single parent. You must be overwelmed beyond belief. I'm sorry you have to go through this. It's like a nightmare that wont quit. You cant believe that it happened to you. You've made it this far...Stay strong...Stay positive. Let people help you in what ever way possible. Dinners for the family, taking care of animals. Your going to be here awhile...I know, we've been there...May God watch over you and your Daughter. Sincerly the Holgate family

Mr.Holgate I just read what you wrote to my cousin which is the mom of the victim and she said you are her Angel. Your prayers and nice comments are much appreciated. She wanted to let everyone know that Arianna is still critical condition but stable. She appreciates everyone thoughts and prayers. There will be a candle light vigil at Cal High where it happened on Thursday, Oct 9th at 7pm. Please everyone keep Arianna, her sister Angelique and her mom Tasha in your prayers! We all love them very much!

We are in the process of setting up a trust fund for her Mother and Sister to enalbe her to stay with her daughter during this time of Crisis. Why do the silly teens insist on crossing in front of cars? Do they think they are invinceable? Many teens tend to play the game of dare. Teens look both ways when crossing the street!!
The psychologists call it risk-taking behavior accompanied by the invincibility affect. It makes teens frequent accident victims-unfortunatly the teens cause the accidents. I am not referring in any way to this specific event or victim-with whom I sympathize. Usually this behavior is more apparent in boys, but girls do it too.

Schools need to consider traffic control for events like football games. I've been in some of those traffic jams and it's crazy. It's hard to believe the guy was able to get away quickly. Hope someone got his license plate.

Auntie Cathy RN, Have you notified the media, Channel 7,KCAL 9,Telemundo,etc regarding your candlelight vigil on Thursday? I am amazed that there has been no local TV coverage on this tragic case. Keep the awareness level up and hopefully it will make the person responsible for this case to do the right thing and surrender to local authorities. Do not let this case rest. Take care.

The real Angels are the ones that work in the Hospital. In the ICU's. You usually never give them much thought until a situation like this happens. You think that your making a life trying to bring up a family the best you can...Maybe you donate a buck or two here and there to make you feel good. Maybe you volunteer some time to the community. Watching those Doctors, Nurses, and Brain Surgoens work on my Daughter trying to save her life as hard as they possibly could made me rethink my whole life. Then there was the community that came to our rescue. Donating thousands so as we could remain by her side...They say with all bad things come to light good things...I tried to remember that in our darkest hour...It seemed to help. I pray that they too see what I now see. I pray that they too have the same outcome, as our Daughter made it...After what was a good year of healing. So I feel for this family as though I was watching it all again. If we can do anything...We're here.... and we understand what your going through.
The Holgate Family has you in their thoughts and prayers...

I will keep you informed. Thanks again Mr. Holgate for all the kind words and for attending the services last night. I was not able to attend the service I was at the hospital watching over our baby girl while the victims mother & Sister attended service. Thanks to La Mirada parent for your kind words as well. Our baby girl is still fighting for her life and she is in Gods hands. We ask that the community keeps her in their prayers. The family has just started to think about organizing a fund to help her mother who is also a single parent and who has been the only person supporting the victim and the vitims younger sister. Nothing has been organized yet. This family attends services at St. Bruno's Catholic Church, in Whittier, Ca every Sunday at 5:30 p.m. mass. The victim was involved with the youth group their, and at this service they will be giving updates on the victims condition. The victims mother and younger sister will be at these services until our baby girl can finally go back to attend to worship our God and give him thanks.

We will do our best to be there. My Daughter is a sophmore at Cal Hi. Here's a thought for a Family memeber or close friend. Start putting a scrap book together of everything that is happening...I know it sounds a bit wierd now... But trust me...Someone did this for use...and it is one of the most cherished books in our house now. One day I'll try and read it when I'm stronger...But for the person that is hurt...She will not remember much or anything. She should know how much people were pulling for her...

Arianna is one of the most sweetest and wonderful girl I have ever met, she is my son's niece/goddaughter and has always been like a father to her throughout her young years, She is the cousin to my grandson and granddaughter and the have been extremely close all their life. I have done nothing but pray for this beautiful girl and her sister and mom, whom I am very close to as well, as we are part of the family. She is constantly on my mind and needless to say, the tears are very often rolling down my cheeks. Dear Cathy, thank you so much for keeping this post going and giving status on Arianna's condition. I also want to thank all of you who have participated in this forum, especially the Holgate family who have touch my heart with their story of their daughter Samantha and I pray that Arianna will come out of this just like Samantha did, with flying colors and tha she will be able to overcome any and all obstacles that might stand in her way, as she is a very strong girl. Please, please, please, if anyone out there know who was driving the car, as I am sure that someone does, do the right thing and let the authorities know, no one should be allowed to get away with this type of crime, maybe he/she didn't see it but to actually leave the scene of the accident, that is unforgivable. Thank you to all of you who are praying for the family. I may not be there physically but I am always there in my thoughts, love to all of you, aunt Mary, aka Mamaoola.
