Daddy-ball does not win championships...for this reason, these kids never have the opportunity to go very far...a state championship never seems to be in reach because you have a mixture of kids....some truly good athletes that deserve all-star and some that only make it because they are a coaches kid and may not have the greatest of talents..this is not fair to the outstanding athletes that do make it and its not fair to the better athletes that don't make it. I think some and I did say some of the coaches need to get over themselves and do what's right by the kids....life is certainly not fair, Dec Co Litlle League does a great job at showing the unfairness of life at a very young age...Way to go guys, I hope you are proud of yourself!

That's exactly why my kids have never played Little League in Decatur Co. Its a shame to have to take your kids to Lexington to play to get a fair shake. That's why Lexington has always been better than Parsons in Little League....they pick the best players, don't base their picks on who's who....take note Decatur Co..

I coached for 3 years and got my feel of the politics of it at Little League and 3 years was plenty. Could not believe some of the things that went on. Such a shame that no more that a small town has to offer and the Little League program is so tainted. One coach in particular is so sorry and underhanded, he should be barred from coaching kids....a terrible example. Decatur Co really needs to revamp the Little League program, keep the decent guys and get rid of the only out for themselves JERKS!!

I could not agree more. Decatur Co. Little League has more politics than the governors race.

DC little league is tainted. It is unfortunately 'daddy ball'. Such a shame, this league has alot of talent in it that never gets seen because parents get disgusted with the all-star selection process and don't sign their kids back up. Travel ball has affected this league, because at least a kids talent is appreciated in travel and also, your kid won't even make a travel team if not good enough, so it is a more fair experience for your child. Unfortunately DC little league is unfair and always will be. The president of the league has no control over what the coaches decide, they don't even pick the all-stars based on stats, they are picked based on who the coaches want to vote for 'privately'.

I don't know why it shows I'm from GA, I'm not, I live in Parsons and I have put 2 kids through the little league they both have been all-stars, because they really were good enough and had the stats, unfortunately I witnessed alot of friends get their feelings hurt because their kid was just as good, but got passed over. My kids were just lucky I guess given their dad never coached.

Tired of seeing kids getting picked over in Little League because their parents don't coach or thei not in the Clique. There are some of the sorriest coaches that will go to amy lenght when it comes to vorting for allIstars. When Dec Co Little League starts basing the votes on talents, they will have a decent team and might actually have a shot at going to state....until then....district will be about all she wrote...regionals if their extremely lucky.

I agree with everyone here my 2 kids got so disgusted last year they don't want to play there anymore.I also think that to be a coach you have to pass a drug screen i know of one that coached last year that uses drugs was popping hydrocodone like baby aspirin

ther are a few kids that make all stars for there talent the rest are picked because of their parents role in the community and thats not right as far as the druggy his last name is oneill he can't hold down a job bacause of his problem i no this is true i've worked with him

the coach i mentioned earlier is the only one that im 100% sure that does this and the kids there are numerous kids that could make allstars that are looked over because other kids parents/family are business owners or elected officials they get picked for this reason

No one is going to list names for fear of retaliation against their child and yes, in Dec Co Little League, that is something they would do. Its a sad sad system and its teaching and setting terrible examples for the youth. If they did actually look at stats, then certain ones just simply would not hv made it....stats don't lie! Coaches do!

I agree with "harley for life"...get Dusty Rhodes in there. He doesn't care who little Johnny belongs too, his only concern is If Little Johnny can play ball.....not who his parents are.

there are 8 out of 12 player on the 11-12 year old allstars that won state in rookie league and went to regionals- so your opinion of these kids not being good enough to be playing is wrong!! there is alot of talent on that team and also my husband doesn't own a business and there is a few kids that there daddys dont' even care if they play ball so don't judge something you know nothing about and give me a break about Dusty Rhodes-everybody is jealous when they have less than someone else--maybe you should all learn to be thankful for what you have and not worry about what you don't!

so sounds like one age division just may be legit but there are other divisions to me seems that they are corrupt or politically influenced one team every year is loaded up with allstars from the previous year so you know they mop the field with all the other teams my kids have played there the last three years and are tired of this happening in my opinion when the teams are picked they should not be allowed to have no more than 2 allstars from the previous year
