A couple of year ago there was a story in The News Leader or Decatur County Chronicle about a parsons mother that was killed by her child's grandparents. She worked at Godfathers pizza. The boyfriends parents drove a 18 wheeler. Remains found in field.....
Anyone know the names ? I'm trying to find out the outcome of the trial and I am unable to locate the story. I know I didn't dream this. Anyone else remember this story ? It was from 2008 or 2009 I think.

I think the case you are talking about happened in Waynesboro Tn. Steven Beersdorf and his wife were arrested for the murder of their daughter in law.

Wayne county residents Steven Ray Beersdorf, Sr., 47, and his wife, Sylvia Beersdorf, 44, pleaded guilty on March 16 to the gruesome murder of their grandson’s mother, Rose Goggins.

The Beersdorfs were indicted on first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder charges. Steven Beersdorf pleaded guilty to both charges and was sentenced to life in prison. Sylvia Beersdorf pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. The charge of first-degree murder against Sylvia Beersdorf was dropped when it was determined that, while she helped plan how to kill Goggins, she didn’t help with the actual murder.

Goggins, who was 21 at the time of the slaying in 2010, worked in Parsons, both at Emily Ferguson, CPA and Godfather’s Pizza. She and her son, Ayden, lived with the Beersdorfs, who were the parents of her fiancee, Steven Ray Beersdorf, Jr.

She was reported missing January 16 by the Beersdorfs, who reported that she had left 10-month-old Ayden with them before heading to an emergency medical technician training course in Lawrenceburg on January 14. Her car was later found, burned beyond recognition, on an isolated logging road in McNairy County.

At first, the search for Goggins was focused on a 10-mile stretch of the Tennessee River from the Lt. Gov. John Wilder Bridge at Clifton to the east. Search parties began scouring the area on January 21 after learning that Goggins’ body may have been disposed near the Clifton Marina. The Decatur County Rescue Squad joined in the investigation, which was led by the TBI. Searchers from more than a dozen state, county and federal agencies spent more than seven hours combing the area before coming up empty-handed.
Attention then turned to the Beersdorf property. There, members of the FBI Evidence Response Team sifted through layers of dirt looking for the remains and with the aid of eight cadaver dogs, they began to find suspicious fragments. Using DNA taken from her son, the remains were identified to be those of Rose Goggins.

The Beersdorfs, who owned “Lord Hands Trucking, LLC.” were arrested on January 21, 2010. Their motive was believed to be the fear that Goggins would take their grandson away from them.

Beersdorf, Sr. admitted to strangling Rose at their residence, then driving her car to McNairy County and setting it afire. The Beersdorfs then tried to cover up the killing by burning her body and chipping her remains into small pieces with a backhoe, then scattering the fragments across their 40-acre property.

Both Sylvia and Ray Beersdorf have been taken to state prisons to serve their terms.

Ayden is now in the custody of his father, Steven Ray Beersdorf, Jr.

That's just crazy. It shouldn't shock me to hear such things but it does. You feel so safe in these small towns but this just shows you that evil doesn't discriminate.

Joe do you work at the prison where Sylvia is incarcerated? You seem to have a lot of info about what she does in prison.
