Parental Alienation Support and Advocacy Group NJ

Are you the Targeted Parent or the Targeted Family of Parental Alienation? If so, you may be confused, hurt, sad, frustrated, angry, ashamed, embarrassed, and simply long for the alienated child, however young or old, back in your life. Parental Alienation is gender-neutral and effects both Mothers and Fathers, as well as Step-Parents, Siblings, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, and anyone who loves a child who is being turned against them. Sadly, the consequences of Parental Alienation are undeniably the most detrimental to the Child/ren who are the pawns of the Alienator.

We are not professionals, but rather ordinary individuals who have experienced, and still are experiencing, the effects of divorce and Parental Alienation. The purpose of this group is to provide a haven for discussion and to offer each other solace and encouragement, recommendations from our own own experiences, and resources. Despite where we are on our journey through life, and however we are experiencing Parental Alienation let us gather together in order grow and heal and come to a deeper understanding of our situation in a positive manner.

In addition to healing on a personal level, it is also our goal to increase public awareness of Parental Alienation and Parental Alienation Syndrome through blogging, organizing educational events, discussions, aligning with organizations, and supporting family law reform which would encourage mediators, counselors, and psychologists to work as a team to help families navigate divorce and beyond in a peaceful, conscious and loving manner.

Children NEED both parents. Children DESERVE both parents. Children have a RIGHT to BE LOVED and to GIVE LOVE to both parents.

Parental Alienation IS Child Abuse.

Richard A. Gardner M.D. Clinical Professor of Child Psychiatry at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeon, says that these are the 8 symptoms of P.A.

1. The campaign of denigration

2. Weak, frivolous and absurd rationalisations for the denigration.

3. Lack of ambivalence.

4. The “independent thinker phenomenon.”

5. Reflexive support of the alienating parent in the parental conflict.

6. Actions of guilt over cruelty to and/or exploitation of the alienated parent.

7. The presence of borrowed scenarios.

8. The spread of animosity to the extended family and alienated parent.
