Up until recently, Kenny Vance avoided discussing his role as co-founding member of Jay and the Americans, a group whose string of hits in the 1960s included 'Only in America,' 'Come a Little Bit Closer' and 'This Magic Moment.' Vance didn't have bad memories of his days in the band.
