School Raises Concerns About Gravel Pit
Full story: KPVI
Counties should follow zoning plans and quit mixing residential and industrial.
Centerpoint School is not near Nampa, but is 10 miles west of Caldwell, ID, near Dixie and the lower Boise River. Zoned "A" (Agriculture), the area is on the Old Oregon Trail and was settled during the Civil War in the 1860s. Hundreds of local residents are adversely impacted by these nonconforming land use decisions by Canyon county officials. As of March 13, Mark Cotner reports no offer has been made to buy the school. These same industrial gravel coporations told my neighbor as soon as they depleted the gravel in Dixie, they would head west toward Parma and do the same. I wish someone would tell the county officals that. Email the director of Development Services at LJensen@canyonco.org
