This is tragic for sure, but I'd like to address the writing. Why on Earth would you finish an article with a line like "Neighbors said Kuder was a kind woman who was often seen mowing her lawn."

Are we supposed to read something into this like Michael was a lazy one, living in the suburbs on welfare with his mother?

This is so sad to hear I am one of the neighbors down the street on 55th Street. I think this is wrong to do someone like this. And my prayer are with the family. Let Jesus be with you all. Have a nice day. Kristen

I think it is extremely thoughtless to break the news before some of the sons and other family members were even notified as to the cause of death, and found out about it on the news. The cause of deaths still has not been released by the medical examiner. To say where the people were shot or found and to try to make something disreputable out of a very sad situtuation just to have a "Breaking News" story is morally wrong. Almost all that has been in the news has been wrong.

This was a mother that dearly loved her sons, and they in-turn. Michael had only lived there for less than year and was making plans to move out. This is an unfathomable situation that only the family needs to know what happened and why, and will probably never know. Mike had just bought his mother a new refrigerator about a month before the incident. The family had been through a lot together over the years, and had suffered and survived a life of extreme mental and physical abuse from the father. Some of what had unfortunately made local news when the children were young and still in school. At that time she divorced their father and tried to remove herself and her children as much as possible from this situation, even by moving far from the area for years. Patricia had been very successful at going on and living a very fulfilling, active and meaningful live with her family, and many friends. She was a beautiful woman who enjoyed life.

I appreciate the comment from Michael in Lenexa. Of course the neighbors had seen her in the yard working or mowing from time to time, she had lived there for almost 30 years. Mike was far from lazy. Why is it that news people feel they have to put a spin on things about seeing several guns being carried out of the house to make it sound like they were held up in a fortification? All guns were legally owned. The police had asked one of the sons to remove them because of trying to avoid theft. There were also other things of value that were being removed from the house at that time. None of that was mentioned. I could go on, but I would like to say to news people everywhere, try to find compassion within yourself and stop putting the most negative spin on a story that you can. It is unacceptable to the family that is left. Because that makes it exactly that... A story!

Daily Horoscope for December 15

Scorpio

You're feeling conciliatory and compassionate today, and you're ready to bury the hatchet if you've been at odds with someone recently. You may have to make the first move, and risk getting a brush off, but you'll consider that a small price to pay if it means you're able to restore the peace. The relief you feel will tell you how much this has been preying on your mind.
