Dr. Hunt was lied to by police. The undercover agent claimed to have HIV or used their HIV status to coerce a perscription. Lying about AIDS/HIV is disgusting. Also interesting is how it takes so many bullet-proof jackets, jackbooted DEA, and automatic weapons to arrest a fat old doctor who couldnt run a block. Also interesting is the assumption by media that he is guilty and the frenzy they are showing by harrassing patients who show up not knowing the office is closed. Whatever happened to innocent till proven guilty? The Doctor mearly perscribed medicine to someone who exhibited signs of needing it. The pharmicist is the REAL trafficker here. Channel 4 in particular will be open to being sued for slander if Dr. Hunt is proven innocent, which I believe will happen. Funny how the media was at the office during the arrest itself, clearly the BSO isn't above commenting on ongoing investigations if they are willing to call the media well in advance. You can look for yourself at how many cases in Florida are thrown out becuase police blantently lied, it's also known as entrapment! I know that Dr. Hunt is a good person, a good doctor with a long record of helping people who other doctors won't even see becuase of insurance. He has helped a huge portion of Ft. Lauderdale's AIDs patients, and the uninsured. I think the media should take a wait and see approach rather than shoving microphones in peoples faces and buzzing around a closed office waiting to pounce on anyone. It's not the doctors fualts that people go doctor shopping in Florida, if you want a tracking system then pass the goddamn law and quit bitching about the problem! Like I said I believe Dr. Hunt is a collatteral target, the one with the half million dollar bail is the pharmacist, the doctor?$5,000. Enough said!

I agree. Dr. Hunt is a good man and does not deserve this treatment. We hear too much today about people not being able to get the medications they need. Nothing has been proved and this stinks of entrapment. Obviously someone agreed or there would not be such a huge difference between the bail amounts. Doesn't BSO have something better to do than waste money and time on screwing over a good man.

There is another factor to consider. Health insurance in this country is a fraud and access to basic medical attention prohibitive. After practicing medicine for some 20 years a trained Doctor can see when a patient might be in need of medication but cannot afford the hundreds if not thousands of dollars in tests and other screening and may able to recognize symptoms without having to use such exhaustive tests. If DEA agent faked and lied about his HIV status and the pain he was suffering then DEA is to blame. It presented a scenario well too familiar for many local Doctors who have to care for scores of uninsured pationet. Trying to help may be Dr. Hunt's biggest crime.

I too know Dr. Hunt - he is a compassionate, generous, and altruistic human being. He is the doctor that would stand up and say "how can I help" - not "do you have insurance?" How unfortunate that the media reported the arrests as though they were related.

Yeah, thats what the cops do. They mistakenly invest hundreds of hours of manpower time into investigating some innocent doctor. They just opened up the phonebook and pointed to anyone and said, "let's waste several hundred hours of time investigating this doctor."

Say what you want. Most of you hate cops, so your comments will be hateful and dumb. I don't care, some of them are pretty funny, but most are dumb. Some cops are jerks, no doubt, but, we are surrounded by jerks.

Commenting on something without knowing the facts makes a person sound smart but look stupid.

He is a doctor wanna-be!

One quarter of "MD's" are foreign trained with equivocal credentials in Florida. Most doctors disciplined in Florida are MD's.

If you go to a DO you are guaranteed he was trained in the U.S.

Nice to see the police are busy setting up doctors and pharmacists for arrest, how about going after crooked politicians, rapists, murderers, robbers, etc.? Oh yeah, that could entail some work and real risk. Nevermind.

Wow, you really are up to speed on police tactics. I am impressed. Oh, BTW, it was the White Pages.
Dr. Hunt is a good man and a good doctor. You should be so lucky to have a doctor that cares for you as he does for his patients.
