The brick apartments on Palmer Drive are infested with black mold. Manager rarely ever answers. The apartments here have so much mold in them. They are making people sick.

We have reported the growth of mold more than once. Items in our closets mildew and items have molded. I am fed up with trying to get the landlord to fix the problem. I can't afford to move right now but this black mold it making my son sick and my wife has had bronchitis about every month since we moved in.

Is there someone we can report these problems too? If you know what we should do please contact me. I think I will try calling the health department to see what they can do. We need to get someone in these apartments to check the air and the air ducts.

The guy that lived in 61 Apartment 104 mold out because of the mold situation. There is mold in our drains.

I was told the woman in 61 Apartment 106 has reported mold issues as well. She has been sick probably from the mold. Another lady said water lays under her apartment. I have been in the apartment once and it has a musty odor. She uses candles and air fresher to cover the smell.

Is there anything we can legally do? They do not fix things as they need to be fixed.

The manager's assistant Stephanie went into apartments without the knowledge of people living there.

They don't give you mailbox keys when you get the keys to the apartment. You risk your mail being sent back because it takes them a long time to get the mailbox key.

Hopefully people will see this and not rent from them. The mold in the walls are covered up just to get people to move in and that is when the problems begin.

Call the health department and Parkersburg code enforcement. Sounds like a slum lord. And a word of advise, don't lease from Dave Wamsley, he is a slum lord and just as bad.

I live in these apartments and I feel they are not taken care of properly. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. I think there is black mold in the apartments. The roof was leaking last year and they put a tin roof on top of the shingles. They didn't do anything about the mold inside the apartments they just paint over it. They just do enough to make the place look good long enough for people to move in. The manager is hard to get in touch with and if they know you are trying to reach them for repairs. Good Luck. I plan to move out as soon as my lease is up.

As for the black mold, I do not know for sure it is black mold but something in this apartment makes me ill. I can be away for a few days and feel fine when I return home I start having headaches, bronchitis, sinus problems, and other respiratory issues. The only way we will be able to tell if it's black mold or not is to have the mold tested. There is a lot of moisture in the air which gives mold a chance to grow. I bought a humidity gauge and it's always at least 70% or higher humidity inside the apartment. If there is black mold in the apartments it is not safe. I plan to buy the mold testing kits to determine what type of mold it is.

If you plan to rent one of the apartments ask the neighbors to see if they have any problems with mold or other issues.

Thanks for the heads up on Dave Wamsley. Someone should start list of landlords to avoid.

I dnt plan to rent any apartment. Call the city code enforcement and health department. And make them do their job. If they don't take it to the County Commission. It's time for the city of Parkersburg to put a stop to slum lords.

I am having the same issues with them but different apartments. They won't fix anything. I have called and called about roof leaking, pipes leaking, fridge not working right, drain backing up and water in 2 nd bedroom. They just keep saying the owner won't fix it. They will not tell me who the owner is so I can contact him and report the issues since they won't do anything. Today the threatened to tow my car for parking in its spot but the trash man said it was in his way it was all the trash they took from the other apartments in the middle of parking lot. The called and knocked on door and I have not even 5 minutes to move it. I'm fed up. She said she can have my car towed at anytime if she sees it in that spot again. Does anyone know the name of the owner ? The business number does not work and no one will tell me. I am trying to call housing authority but try are on lunch break.

The property manager whe I initially moved into the palmer drive apartments was absolutely terrible. There is a new property manager who is way better about maintenance issues but the black mold problem still exists.
