I have a question for law enforcement in Wood County. How is it that businesses inside the city limits of Parkersburg recently got busted for selling synthetic pot, but the Pioneer Book Store is still getting away with it? You wouldn't know this by reading the local newspaper OR watching the local TV station (both jokes), but the place was recently broken into and had their "incense" stolen. The sheriff's department apparently caught the burglars and confiscated the synthetic dope. Again, none of this has been covered by the local media, but the rumors are flying from very credible sources. Now, from what I understand the WV law against synthetics prohibits ALL derivitives, not just specifically named chemicals. What's the deal?

You need to keep your nose out of other peoples business.

OK so only synth pot smokers come to Parkersburg Topix. And batboy, you need to stop telling people what to do. You have no authority over anyone.

It isn't illegal, it is a certain substance inside of the incense that was outlawed. They outlawed I believe 4 or 5 of the substances, there are literally hundreds of them on the market, easily purchasable online. All they do is take legal herbs and spray them with chemicals. The companies that produce this stuff in large quantities simply switched to a slightly less powerful perfectly legal chemical. DERP! By the way JWH, which is the synthetic THC, is still easily purchasable online, just different varieties. They are not breaking any laws, but they are still assholes for peddling that garbage.

Actually, Thought, the WV law against synthetics specifically has language that states those specifically named chemicals and "derivatives" are illegal. You can pull up the law and read it online.

HB 2505 (2011)

CP 47,497 and homologues, including the C8 homologue; HU-210; HU-211; JWH-018; JWH-073; JWH-015; JWH-019; JWH-200; JWH-250; CP 55,940; JWH-122; JWH-398; RCS-4; RCS-8. States that “since nomenclature of these substances is not internationally standardized, any immediate precursor or immediate derivative of these substances shall be covered.”

Believe me this still leaves a lot of breathing room as far as research chemicals are concerned. JWH, HU, and RCS are not even a drop in the bucket, there are many other research chemicals out there, many of them still perfectly legal.

I see what you mean, Thought. You would think there would be a way to just nip the whole thing and make it all illegal.@Batboy: Are you threatening me? Cause if you are, I'm not a bit afraid. You're a bunch of hot air.

Well what really pisses me off is that relatively safe drugs like marijuana are jailable to possess meanwhile they sold garbage like this for years knowing it was being abused and causing problems with little to no regulation.
