Oil and Gas: A Tourist Attraction

The head of Parkersburg's Oil and Gas Museum wants the area's history of petroleum drilling to be it's newest tourist attraction.

A while back I was in Parkersburg on business, having some spare time I was driving by the Oil and Gas museum, curosity being my nature I decided to check it out. I could have spent hours as there is so much history inside and when I am in the area again I will make it a point to visit and spend more time.

IN THE LATE 1940'S TO THE EARLY 1950,S THE SMALL FARM TOWN/VILLAGE,(WIDE PLACE IN THE ROAD WITH A COUPLE OF MAIL BOXES)OF SILVERTON LOCATED ON THE THEN RT 56 2 MILES FROM RAVENSWOOD ENJOYED A MINIATURE OIL BOOM. PERHAPS 15-2O OIL WELLS MATERIALIZED OVER NIGHT. THIS BOOM ONLY LASTED A FEW YEARS. MY DAD PAYED OFF THE MORTAGE ON OUR SMALL FARM WITH THE PROCEEDS RECEIVED FROM TWO OF THE WELLS ON OUR PROPERTY THAT WAS JUST EAST OF THE JUNCTION OF US77 AND THE OLD RT 56. PERHAPS THIS IS MENTIONED IN THE AFOREMENTIONED MUSEUM. THOUGHT YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED.

Hillary Clinton calims that her propsed gas tax suspension would help with our gas crisis. This is as big a lie as her vote for the IRAQ OIL WAR. Clinton has never apologized for that vote as other Senators have and I believe that Clinton is somehow benefiting from voting for that WAR for OIL vote. Clinton has friends who are big oil people who helped finance her Campaign and the tax suspesion for 3 months could cause a rise in prices due to the increased Deamand and no increase in supply. The OIL GIANTS will only further PRofit with already excessive oil profits. The roads and bridges would suspend over 300, 000 trades workers and with the Clintons' Beloved NAFTA trade agreement already out-sourcing millions of U.S. JOBS- the Clinton gas Tax plan stinks- really STINKS! I have not heard Hillary Clinton propose that her oil friends pay an oil PROFITS TAX. This would help. Then the price of gas could be subsidized the way it is in Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries and China. We pay out enough money to those countries so they are able to sell gas for 50 cents or a dollar a gallon- we help them subsidize gas and we also Give them our tax dollars in the form of foreign Aid and our JOBS as well! The clintons are in on this process, they have Arab investments and hedge funds with money going every which way but to AMERICA!
