I was surprised to learn that there are no buildings in Rexburg older than 33 years. I remember being up on the bench, and there were numerous houses there that weren't touched by water. I believe Ricks College was also above the flood.

Whoever said there are no buildings in Rexburg older than 33 years is exagerating. The home I was living in when the dam broke is still there. So is the home I lived in prior to that. The current Jr High building still has visible water lines from the flood, although it will be torn down when the new high school is finished. The Kirkham building on BYUI campus was built prior to the flood, and the list goes on.
