Voters in La Paz County’s two incorporated municipalities will be heading to the polls March 8. The Town of Parker has its town council primary election that day, while the Town of Quartzsite will have a special recall election.

Four candidates are vying for three seats on the Parker Town Council. The incumbents are Steve Madoneczky and Daniel Beaver. Newcomers seeking seats on the council are Candy Escorza and John Yackley.

If a candidate receives votes on 50 percent or more of the ballots cast at a council primary election, that candidate is declared elected to the council. Should three candidates be elected at the primary election, the town will not need to have a general election in May.

The polling place in Parker is the Parker United Methodist Church, located at the intersection of Arizona and Ocotillo avenues.

The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters are reminded they will need to bring one piece of photo identification or two pieces of non-photo identification.
