Former Colorado River Indian Tribes Treasurer Dennis Welsh Jr., who was removed from office Dec. 31, 2009, will run for office again, along with Duncan Fisher, Michelle Eddy and Fernando Flores Sr.
Welsh lost his office by 35 votes in a Dec. 31, 2009, recall election.
CRIT has had a number of recalls in recent years.
A Dec. 13, 2008, recall removed former Treasurer Daphne Hill-Poolaw. It was the third recall attempt on a council member.
The two other recalls were by a grassroots organization call the CRIT Coalition. In the summer of 2007, the organization attempted to recall all nine members of the tribal council.
The second attempt was focused on Hill-Poolaw, but that was concluded as "null and void" when one of the organization members tried to retrieve the recall petitions from the Enrollment Office.
In a December 2008 General Election, all incumbents were ousted except for Valerie Welsh-Tahbo.
The special election will be March 5.
Currently sitting on Tribal Council are Chairman Eldred Enas; Vice Chairman Wayne Patch Sr.; Secretary Merving Scott Jr.; members Johnny Hill Jr. Amanda Leivas-Sharpe, Richard Armstrong and Valerie Welsh-Tahbo.
