You can not stop it. It is already here. You have waited too long. Should have done something about it 5-7 years ago.

Overland Park was just voted the 17th best city to live in I believe. Ironic!

The cities only chance is to eliminate the older, cheaper homes and Apartment Complexes. They also need to kill public transportation an ban Walmart stores.

I suspect they are migrating up from the North. That's the High School with all the problems. You know, the one right by the Police Department.

They also might want to consult with the Leawood Police Department on what to look for.

Crime is everywhere, it was only a matter of time before it bled out into the suburbs. We are living in bad economic times and morals have hit an all time low. The best thing to do is organize a town meeting and have an email chain where everyone can communicate and share information. A strong community can overcome anything. This has worked great for my little KC, Kansas Neighborhood. We alert others when we see anything suspicious.

There is no police dept near the high school up north. You must be thinking of SM West and the PD moved out south away from that location many years ago.

It is happening in Kansas just like MIssouri---they are moving south from Crimedotte County just like Missouri--moving east to Blue Springs and Lees Summit from inter city--no stopping them now

Sorry. Nope. Lived in OP. Saw the crime go up. Too off to kck, less crime by me then there was. Worst I have had to deal with is someone denting my car. Before moving, cops around all the time, bomb threats, police chases just blocks from my home. Carjackings. Shootings. Break ins.
Now, peace and quiet compared to johnson county. Find some other place to blame. In Wyandotte, or at least my area of wyandotte, we all respect eachother and how hard we work for our crap.

Problem is with OP and OPPD is the police department. The admin worry too much about what the officers are doing and how they look than what criminals are up to. Look at Oak Park Mall, that place is a hole. After dark that is one of the most dangerous places in KC. Will the police do anything about it, nope. They react to crimes instead of going after these thugs before they commit the crimes. The police department is a joke, they'd rather ticket the residents for speeeding than go after real criminals. Wake up Chief...

Thank you for running this robbery in the news. This situation had an impact on me and my life. Normally news is about someone else, this time, my dear son was the one being robbed. A greater man you will not find, who loves his wife and family. I pray that those who robbed him at work will find the God that created them, and find His Salvation from God's Justice through Jesus. The Lord asks his followers to pray for those who hurt us and who despitefully use us. Even though it seems like it, no one on earth is going to "get away" with anything. There will be a day of Judgement coming for all of us.
