Detestable!
Most juvenile crime I find has roots in a lack of parental supervision.
Good thing the ACLU got those 10 commandments and any shred of Christian morality out of our public schools.
America needs to go back to Church.

I also donot understand why some parents continue to let their children go anywhere alone these days. This kind of thing happens quite often and you would think that parents would get a grip and keep a watch on their children. I pray the child comes through this OK and donot have problems behind what happened. PARENTS...PLEASE GET A GRIP!!!!

Agreed! Perhaps the parents should be sterilized as well for their lack of responsibility.

If this kid is required to be in counseling I think his parents should be there right along with him.

I don't understand the thing about going to church. It seems that is where this type of behavior is taught!

I wouldn't call the cops until after I tok justice into my own hands. I would be in prison and the deadbeat parents of this 14 year old along with him would be in the Star obituaries. Sick fmilies if you can even call them family. Where are the names of these scums?

the teenager probly was a victim of sexual abuse himself. Thats not normal thing for a teenage boy to do.

Ditto for me!!! Not sure what happened to this 14yo boy...this is not NORMAL behavior! PARENTS your only JOB in life is to protect your young from danger! Im sorry times have changed...you cant let your children go ANYWHERE unattended any longer...and we must recognize that...but this never would have made it to the cops...because my child would already be in counseling and they would have found this kid who decided to force my child to suck his d*** somehwere STINKING!

I think by this point the authorities should think about investigating the teenage boy's parents... we need the Bible and God not a bunch of power hungry Catholic Priests.

This only happens in the white folks great rich neigborhood and you guys complain about the hood. I rather take my chances on walking down the street on 35th and Prospect then to send my kids out there in JOCO to get molested.

Ditto. The suspect was probaly molested as a child so he assumed that it was ok with touching other little boys or girls. Looks like the apple doesn't fall to far from the tree these kids will need some severe counseling. I couldn't imagine going through anything like this but thas what we have to deal with in todays society. Preverts, child molesters, pornographic asssswipes and most of all INCEST.

the 14 yr. old I am sure has been a victim of sex crimes. You are right MC Hammer and Tell it like it is. This is not normal for a boy that age unless they have been taught these things. He is only taking out his anger, hatred and agression on a smaller child like his attacked did him. He too needs counseling,a nd his parents especially a step parent needs investigated.

People in Johnson County, IMO, have a false sense of security. Bad things can happen to people anywhere. My question is, where where any of the parents of any of these kids? The way I read it, there were four kids at least on this playground, two 9 year olds and two teens. Nine year olds aren't safe on an unsupervised playground on a Saturday morning, and did the fourteen year olds parents have any idea where they were? My guess is that more charges will be brought in this case than just against the 14 year old who committed the assault.

First of all, the 14 year olds should have their names released to the public. Second, our judicial system does not treat these types of crimes with the seriousness they deserve. There should be severe, permanent punishment in cases where children are sexually violated. Why should such criminals be allowed to live in our neighborhoods and communities? Third, research has shown that therapy/counseling does not rehabilitate pedophiles or those that sexually abuse others. We need to band together and do something to protect the children in our society. Otherwise, the cycle continues.

I don't care why he attacked the poor innocent 9 yr old. There is NO REASON for it WHATSOEVER! I was sexually molested also but I don't take it out on other kids or anybody for that matter. Take the child that was molested to counseling and talk to them or figure out a way to resolve the situation, don't take it out on anybody else it's no excuse. Other kids/adults don't deserve this.

Really? JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE MOLESTED AS A CHILD DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL MOLEST SOMEONE ELSE!!!! People need to realize that everyone has a choice, THEIR OWN CHOICE to do wrong. I've heard the whole 'statistics say' my entire life, and it's CRAP! I was molested as a child and have NEVER molested anyone! The 'statistics' are wrong, bad things happen to good people all the time. People need to quit blaming the things they do on their past and own up to it. This teen has issues that need to be addressed, and probably will now that he is in custody. This was HIS choice, HE chose to touch another child, and should be punished FOR THAT. It's RIDICULOUS that people are saying he was probably molested himself, and that's probably why he did it. No...he did it because he's a punk and CHOSE to do it. And should be punished for it, regardless of 'his past'.
