train to be stranded between Winona and Sharon Springs. What year exactly and would like to do research on story?

I remember moving across the state from Fairbury to Valentine when a blizzard started on Tuesday, March 6, 1950. It started snowing when the moving van was loading. Three to four hours later there was a foot of snow. The next day we started to drive to Valentine. We were stranded that night in Neliegh. Got to Valentine Thursday evening. We spent most of the two days driving about 200 miles and frequently following snowplows through the snowdrifts. The moving van didn't make it until Friday. I don't know about trains being stalled in that particular blizzard but they certainly were in the January 1949 blizzard all over most of the state. You can find a lot about that one on the internet, because I looked it up first and got a great deal on it. My parents and I were stranded away from home in that one, too. Are you doing this for research about family stories you have heard or for genealogy? Good luck.

March 1950 sounds like the right blizzard. My father in law was a railroader with UP. They had rescued train passengers by loading them into school buses from Winona KS.
Someone probably has pictures. Would love to have some.
