Well, it IS that time of year for Sturgis...maybe law enforcement should high-tail it up there with some descriptions and serial numbers. They might get lucky!

That's unfortunate as a fellow rider I'm glad I have garage to keep mine safe. As for the "Observer" from KCK, have you ever been to Sturgis? The thieves were stealing "crotch rocket bikes" which aren't typical of the bikes seen in Sturgis since that's where everyone with a Harley-Davidson rides, also known as a cruiser bike. Aka, Sturgis: bikes that make a manly rumble when you rev the engine. Crotch rocket bikes: bikes that make the high-pitched whine that is also common in 4-cylinder Hondas, Toyotas and other foreign cars common to the demographic of high school students and adults in their late 20's and early 30's that are still single with the idea they'll score a hot chick with a car that does 0-60 in 10 seconds.

Everyone knows that it's the trashy walker kids and their asain friends stealing bikes. their whole ghetto crew looks for bikes in the day and then comes back for them at night. it's no secret they warned everyone involved that the cops will be coming and to get your story straight. They have the cops fooled and know it! Catch this trash and get them into a cell!

Actually, I have been to Sturgis, and ALL types of bikes are represented there. Granted, the custom Harleys dominate, but there's everything there including Honda motor-scooters. You see, Sturgis has evolved into a gathering of BIKE LOVERS - and that, Mr. Know-It-All, is not limited to Harley owners only. And you don't have to explain to me the difference in sound between Harleys and crotch-rockets. I can tell by your post that I've been around many years longer than you. You wrote sounding as if you JUST learned about bikes - and Sturgis.
And while we're at it, my car will go 0-60 in 4.3 seconds.

Scott: To a true enthusiast, bikes are about freedom and performance. Not an image. Your reference to "manly rumble" was hilarious. Bikers are not a unique lot, they are diverse, prefer freedom and tend to adventure. The quality of the biker experience should not be judged by the amount of chrome, volume of exhaust nor fringe and concho score... But on the willingness to share our enthusiasm without prejudice. Now go wrap your legs around your 800LB,$30K, "Manly Sounding" vibrator... don't forget to comb your "manly" goatee.
