Wow, Lauren, really? This is big breaking news? Considering you got all of three replies on the patch site and won't get ANY when you try to recycle it on FB, don't you think you should remove it as breaking news? After all it appeals to almost no one in the local area, aside from the few voters in the 4th ward.

It matters to some 6th ward residents. Muskrat just voted along with the rest of the board and has done nothing for his ward. Buh bye.

Neither Simos or Muscarella are new to the scene and if they could not follow simple directions for filing their petitions then they have no business on the ballot. Boo-hoo. Read the packet next time. It will be intereting to see how the Mayor Hank and his merry band of bobbleheads work to get Barry elected since he doesn't have an opponent himself. Follow the money trail.

Why does Lauren always trump up oak forest when she spends most of her time at the tinley park Starbucks? If you don't support oak forest businesses, then don't run it's site.

Here your answer as the attack dogs have started, but it really interests me, since Mr. Simon voted to knock these 2 folks off for
FAILING TO FOLLOW THE LAW!! Oh wait, Mr. Simon is his own Law!! Isn't that correct Mr. Simon.

As far as this Sullivan person, any person who sits on a committee that raises the Garbage rate for 8 straight years, when our neighbors to the east are paying less than $ 18/month, can you really believe him? Also, Mr. Sullivan, do you even know this person? If so, you must not know how to spell his name, really man! You are just an interesting Oak Forest type, when does the Senior bus pull up to your house!(See Comment Below)

I considered Pete to be an excellant Alderman and find it tragic that a candidate would find it necessary to have him removed over a minor technicality. Good luck in your future endeavors. 6th ward voters should remember that due to one candidate fililg objections(not Berry)they have less choice in the upcoming election. Thank you to Pete and Greg for your longtime service to the City of Oak Forest.

I really can't see jim hortman being a alderman when he can't handle being a member of a committee,he just doesn't have the time or patients for it..

The electoral board had no choice but to follow the law. The problem stems with the person who challenged the petitions, he had a choice.

It is sad that it comes to this, but when it does, and it is something like this, where it is spelled out and part of the law and not up to someone's interpretation, what was the board supposed to do? They could have let them stay on, it would have been appealed and just made some lawyers some more money.

As far as this not being "Breaking News". No one is forcing you to read it. I'm perfectly fine that this is considered big news.

Agreed! Is this the same attitude they operated under the last 4 years? The rules don't apply to me? I am better than you? Not very smart. And they were making decisions involving the spending our tax dollars. Well, we shouldn't be surprised, now should we.

Hey Simon - the name is Barry. I guess the residents know who you are supporting so it must be another yes man who wants in. I do not know Mr. Hortsman but if you guys want Barry, I will vote for Hortsman.

Jim Hortsman will be a great alderman!
Known him for many years. He's a guy that will make a difference. Can't wait to vote him into office

This Is why we need to support Hortsman for alderman. He has critical thinking skills

As far as the guys knocked off the ballot, it was their own faults. Everyone grow up and move on and quit blaming the guy who found the irregularities. Kudos to him since he obviously knew election law. I would rather hear the two remaining candidates tell us in the 6th ward what their plans are to stop the decline of our city and what they would do about taxes. Maybe the voting wouldn't be 6-1 or 5-2 anymore. Would be nice to hear an open debate once in a while. Also seems like the 7th ward seat is empty pretty often.

Feel free to move on, mighty mature one. Why even stop and post your opinion if you feel this way. Some people choose to post here for whatever reason. The second part of your post was right on.

I would like to hear Mr. Hortsman's ideas for the city. Barry is backed by the powers that be so we already know his. How about some interviews from Patch? They could show a picture of the city council dias with the 6th ward chair and ask "What should go here?"
Funny but

Lauren and the patch wil only do what the city tells her to do, seeing as they have one hand pulling her strings and the other rubbing her back, telling her how wonderful she is. They hold the keys to what you read on the patch, and don't believe anything to the contrary.
