Full story: Park Record 22
The Treasure partnership has set a price tag of just shy of $93 million for its development rights on a high-profile hillside overlooking Old Town, City Hall said Wednesday afternoon, a dollar figure that has led the municipal government to abandon its efforts to negotiate an outright buyout. no one should pay these twots a dime... if you live in the neighborhood directly adjacent to this proposed future eyesore, either sell or put a group together to buy them out/down.

no public tax $ should be used. this was approved by the pc city council gimps. the sweeneys are twots for destroying the skyline, the groups deserve eachother.

Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! Uh ... this WAS a joke - right? Let them build what they can on their property - which will be nothing, as they don't have the money and no one will lend it to them.

i grew up in that neighborhood in the 50's. I was hoping for a reasonable buyout to save the beautiful hills of my childhood but not at that price. Let them build. The Sweeney's will be always known as simply greedy people.

STOP WASTING MY MONEY!
I CANNOT BELIVE WE LET OUR IDIOT LEADERS LISTEN TO IDIOT SINGERS ( LEADING A NEIGHBORHOOD GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO MOVED IN KNOWING THE SWEENEY'S HAD THESE RIGHTS ) AND BACK US INTO THIS --- THE MOST RIDICULOUS "NEGOTIATIONS" IN THIS CITY'S HISTORY.

Let them build it......finance will be almost impossible. Re appraise it , charge the family tax on their valuation. Every Old Town resident should object to every proposal/application . Good luck greedy Sweeny family

...and adhere to every environmental, zoning, safety, building code and architectural regulation to the Nth detail. Issue no permit until the plans are flawless, and shut down the job for every infraction. I want to see inspectors crawling all over that place.

Greed is alive and well in Park City. They deserve the current development market. Let them have at it.

So these people are greedy for developing a track they worked with the city for over 20 years to get approved? I see the people that bought the condo's at a discount because they didn't adjoin open space and now want it made open space at my expense as the greedy ones. You could buy every adult resident of Park City a nice new car at the tax payers expense for what this buy out will cost. I say let them move forward.

LET THEM BUILD.

Hold them explicitly to the original proposal, square footage and uses. Give them a specific time frame to complete from issuance of the permit. They are still subject to all other zoning and regulatory requirements (and if they think they can dodge that because of a thirty year proposal, be prepared to take them all the way to the Utah Supreme Court). Let them go into the public market for financing and build as best they can with the crappy site access, topography and proposed mix from the seventies proposal and just sit back and see how far this goes. You have to wonder if they don't already know that this project is a non-starter which is why we are having this discussion to begin with.

Finally we can all agree - LET THEM BUILD on what was legally approved.

All our public officials went the "reelection" route and sided with loud mouth neighbors (aka THINC) instead of telling THINC that the Sweeney's did everything right and can build on their land.

The development and city official focus should always have been on keeping the Sweeney's to the letter of the legal development and the required improvements offsite so they can build their "legally approved" development.

The THINC idiots and our cowardly city officials have made this a complete joke. Every member of THINC would be as greedy as Sweeneys if they had their legal development questioned by city officials that had NO CLUE as to their inabilty to shut down a legally entitled development. FYI - we forced the Sweeneys into spending MILLIONS to defend their "entitled" position and to expect any other outcome would be naive.

Of course they want top dollar wouldn't you - especially after what our fearless leaders put them through all the while refusing to educate the neighboring emotional, uneducated and NON -"THINC" - ING masses.

Hey Rich - now that we all went down this road with you are you willing to write the check? Oh I forgot you are not busy battling Homes for Humanity.

What does this subject have to do with drugs? I don't do them and have no intention on starting. Legal or not.

You sound like a frustrates wannabe. Probably a reserve or maybe search and rescue because no department will hire you. I know the type. You were a pain in the rear for the rest of us real cops. Badge whore..
