great, another lame roundabout. they dont woark and are very dangerous unless just one lane. if you stand back and watch these things in action you will see how dangerous they really are. they are outdated leftovers from a time before cars when horse and buggy ruled the roads. they are originally because horse and buggy couldnt make that tight of a turn. am looking forward to the day when one of these mercedes suv's slams into my car because they dont know how to enter nor exit these roundabouts. i work in redstone and am absolutely against this. spend the money and put in a light like other cities do because is proven to cut down on accidents. get with the time summit county.

While it is true that most western Americans are unfamiliar with roundabouts, they are statistically safer and move more traffic quicker than stop lights. I don't know which studies you are reading that "proves" lights cut down on accidents, because that is just not true. Which would rather be hit by, a Mercedes SUV running a red light at 50MPH and T-boning you or the same SUV sideswiping you at 15MPH?

Roundabouts are great if everyone knows how to use them - which they don't. No-one signals for a start. The whole idea of a roundabout is to create free flowing traffic, but if you don't know where the car on the roundabout is going, everyone entering a roundabout has to stop "just in case". And now some bright spark of an engineer is erecting trees in the center and around the edges of the roundabouts, so drivers cannot see who is in or entering the roundabout. Durrgh!

I have tried in vain to contact someone who wants to take responsibility for the education of how to use roundabouts, but no-one knows who is building them (very strange) and the attitude seems to be: "let's build a roundabout and let drivers figure out how to use them".

I have even offered my time to help with this project, but I think they want to outsource the job to China!

Everywhere else in the world that has roundabouts, drivers know how to use them - signalling is imperative. Hands up anyone who will take responsibility for teaching us all how to use these fabulous inventions?
