'Miller said the resort is concerned a ticket reseller might be asking more than PCMR charges for a lift ticket at the ticket booths.'

Seriously we're supposed to believe that? Why would people pay MORE than the window price? Obviously this guy was selling $25 benefit day tickets for LESS than that ticket window price, trying to make a few bucks for himself, and save the buyer a few bucks.

Not that I condone it, just calling out that ridiculous quote.

P.S. Deer Valley would have had the guy arrested.

benefit day tickets are discounted, aren't they? And there are some discounted ticket opportunities if you look around.

It is easy to imagine someone selling tickets at "window prices" which they had purchased at a discount price, and not to be rude, but DUH, why else would someone go out of their way, including changing their clothes, to violate mountain policy?

Should have given his name so we could contact him directly and express our outrage.

Benefit Days tickets are $25. Early Season window prices were $65, not sure if they are up to full price yet.

In any case, obviously nobody would pay more than window price, and not even window price, to a guy standing around. There's no point. They would pay LESS than window price, obviously.

It's just ridiculous for the resort to be quoted that they are trying to protect customers from paying over the window price, when clearly they are trying to protect the resort itself from losing revenue from skiers buying discounted resold tix at less than window price. Which is every bit their right to do.

It seems to me a lift ticket is a commodity that can be bought and sold at will. Just go to a Jazz game some time.

Miller reminds me of the old Iraqi Information Minister Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf.

This is almost laughable. I'm betting Miller wishes he could have a do over on that mendacious gibberish.

I'd consider the very real possibility that Mr. Miller was simply misquoted and did not say something so ridiculous. It wouldn't be the first time....

Maybe, maybe not. You can't resell an airline ticket. There's talk of concerts and sporting events going to that model, likely not that you wouldn't be able to resell tickets, but you could only resell them through NFL.com or whatever. That way the fees and markups go back to the event originator instead of to scalpers or stubhub, etc.

Since the resort is private property it is within their rights to not allow reselling on their property. If there was any concern over "protecting guests" it would be from people selling tickets that are not valid. Too bad for the spokesman he didn't think fast enough to give that answer.
