I think the Mayors fees are much less the the spending involved in the new village office Hardens furniture really. And it is to my knowledge that the mayor can legally contact any village employee this includes lawyer that is hired by the village, and not for nothing with the drugs in this town. Why does the village board have a problem with more hours for police. Hmmmmmm interesting. This village board has an agenda. Just watch. Really new new party input and fast. I would not want anyone on current board for Mayor.

The village lawyer is not an employee of the village. My understanding was that the lawyer was to be contacted only with the consent of the village board. There are other resources available to the board regarding legal issues, and these should be used before spending $150/hr. for legal advice. There are several names being considered for the vacant position, hopefully they will make the right choice.

So, what names are being considered for the board? There are no legitimate democratic candidates to run for village office. It would be wonderful to have a choice at election time, but unless a serious Democrat or Conservative candidate comes along, things will remain the same.

Oh yes the lawyer is an employee of the village. My question is why can't the Mayor who is elected by the village not the board call to have more police presence in the village. Smell like people are hiding something to me. How much was the bill for the lawyer? How do you Best Choice know much an hour the lawyer is.? There is a year to come up with a decent candidate Fisrt the police chief then Mayor then can not contact lawyer sound very fishy that the board is hiding something. Wake up Camden!

The lawyer is someone the village contracts with for his or her service. Much like the person they contract with for mowing the park. Not an employee. The board agreed that the mayor needed approval before spending tax dollars to consult. He didn't get it, so he paid for it.

Is this the same lawyer that wanted to be the Judge in town?
He should run for Mayor. Call it Community Service.

Ok let's assume that the lawyer is contracted. My question is WHY did the board want no contact with the mayor and lawyer. And WHY are the police NOT supposed to get involved in drug arrests. And WHY did the board not want the former Police Chief Carroll? Those are the questions that seem to all point in one direction. A lot of people questioning this board. I think you will find that unless someone with some smarts and is willing to tell them to F themselves that nothing will change. It's going to get worse. That board is hiding something and Mayor Wolzmuth knew it.

The former chief wanted $70k, that's why he left.

That was excuse to get rid of him. He was worth the money to clean up this drug infested town. But the board must think that is ok for our kids in the village.

Rumor has it that the former Mayor has been approached by several residents, and asked to fill the vacancy.

Unfortunately the residents will have to wait until nest March. Hope Who ever decides to do it really studies the current board before jumping on board. At least Mr. Harlander has some experience the other idiots are clueless. They think money equals brains obviously not the case. He would be wise to not bother to nice of a man to have his name ruined.

about it.
The board is quiveling ver a $100 dollar lawyer fee but when asked exactly how much did the village girls go over budget for the new village offices (which they did by at least $30,000.00) no one knew nothing about it. The taxpayers have a right to know. The board needs to produce the paperwork. This town is turning into another Vienna!! Sad.

True, very corrupt bunch. Very surprised that Steve Baker would get involved with such idiots. But then again he is BFF's with one village clerk that is in question.

What is taking so long to find a replacement on the village board? There are some well qualified people that could step in at a time when the village board really could use some leadership.

There is currently a Trustee job open on the Village board. Small salary. I do not see a long line of interested people seeking the seat. Too much apathy and criticism of those who do serve. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

Oh there was a hand selected line. Just sit back and see. One is a neighbor of good old Jeff Dorkman part of The very affluent Emmons Circle Society. Neither one of them are from Camden but a couple of drunks fthat hang at the grog. I bet they get the street lights if Dorkmans buddy gets the seat. Sounds like it may have been a plan. I wonder

Most educated people could see right through that plan. Hope it does happen. Not the kind of person we need to do the job.

I understand that two people will be interviewed by the board for the vacancy. Hopefully they will pick someone without an agenda.

Hopefully Mr. Harlander can put some ethics back on the board. The rest of them need some help. If it does not benefit them does not get done. A lot of back door / Grog politics going on.
