I just thought the citizens would like to know how code enforcment wasted your tax dollars on me. 2004 my house burned,2009 the city took my property after i couldnt pay the lein for demolishion, $13,587. $3549 in back taxes by the time they took it. I just bought it back for $800. $17,000 of your dollars were spent you got back $800. thank you

Its fine, upstanding citizens like you that rip this country off every day. Why didn't you take care of your own business instead of the city having to take care of it for you??? You sound like a real winner.....

I can understand his statement. This goes on a lot here. You cant blame the homeowner for what the goverment forces you to do even if you cant afford it.If the citizens would stand up to this gov. control you could have saved those tax dollars. But folks just keep beleiving their hog wash and the gov just keeps spending it. Dont bitch adout gov spending if you voters keep giving them a way to abuse it.End code enforcement and it will stop this from going on.Finally a citizen got one over on the city, good for you you should be proud. This just proves how incompetent the city is here and how these folks in the city gov are just dumbasses and need to be replaced. There has been so much money wasted in paris the past few years its just plain stupid and the citizens just keep on praising them and talk about how good of people they are.Just shows how dumb we are for letting them get away with it.

No, the city didn't put you in that situation. Your lack of morals, responsibility, and integrity put you in that situation. Your scheming desire to have someone else foot your bills put you in that situation. Did you not have insurance on the structure that burned? If not, why not? If it paid off, why didn't you use the proceeds to clean up your mess?

Don't blame the city for your lack of character.

BTW - I seriously doubt your story. It would be interesting to check who bought the properties that sold for $800 and cross-reference the buyers to previous owners of the properties. I really don't care or have the time to check, but if anyone does, maybe they wouldn't mind sharing their findings with us.

This ought to be pretty easy to check out -- I see only 2 tracts sold for $800. I just might, out of curiousity, follow up on this.

I think this is my neighbor that had the two story house next to me that burned. If it is he might be telling the truth. He did try to teardown the house his self but the city stopped him because he wasnt a demo man. Todd Varner went as far as criminally tresspassing him from his own property so he couldnt tear the house down. Then the house sat there for 6 more years. Im not sure he bought it back his self but i do know he was trying to find someone to buy it for him and it did sell.

You couldn't afford? or chose not to pay? You sound like a deadbeat! I am sure that you are going to build something nice. LOL. Make sure you keep that vacant lot that you are not going to do anything with MOWED! We don't want to look at it.

Have you ever thought that maybe that property is not worth squat? People with any kind of money could have easily out bid you. Yet, you will buy this back at 1/14th the cost and not be able to pay for the taxes again...nor the upkeep! Way to go hero!

One more thing....no one is impressed!

One more thing.....thank you City of Paris for removing this ridiculous eyesore so that we may be a slight bit more attractive to outsiders as well as ourselves.

They did you and us a favor and you come on here and bitch about it and brag about it? Shame on you. Honestly, shame on you.

You people sound like communist. If you cant afford to replace your house you a deadbeat. Your whole town is dead.Noone should have the right to take your personal property just because they dont do things your way. Why dont all you paris deadbeats get your town together before you judge someone else. With all the downtown buildings that need repair the business people who own them must be deadbeats also. Look at the building next to swaims hardware owned by the harpers. It collapsed over two years ago and is a major safty hazard, but yet it still stands. Deadbeat.

For a residential property, you may take down a home with asbestos without requiring asbestos removal. You may NOT take down more than 3 adjacent dwellings with asbestos as it is considered a larger scale demolition. Why don't you try to do some better research before you decide to bark up this tree. I am right. I am always right. That makes you wrong. Get used to it.

....and yes, that is my arrogance showing. I don't mind you seeing it.
