I think the best lawyers in town are at the Moore Law Firm -- James Rodgers, Judy Hodgkiss, Dave Turner, Steve Walker, Plug Clem, Bill Payne, and a new lady named Nickie. They have attorneys who cover all types of cases -- civil and criminal.

The Moore Firm handles all types of cases and they do it well. Barney Sawyer is a great criminal lawyer, too.

It is not true. She is a wonderful wife and mother, a Christian and a GREAT LAWYER, which, after all, is what this thread is about.

Never use a lawyer in Paris!! Recently we called Sawyer regarding some trouble my husband had got into, he wanted $15,000.00 to defend him. When asked why so much he stated that more or less that is how much it would take to get the judge to agree, but he never promised nothing. Needless to say we did not have that kind of money, so we called a lawyer out of Sulpher Springs, his cost,$2,500.00 total. He was very deligent and seen that the truth was known without having to slide money to no judge or DA.

It never ceases to amaze me that people will come onto Topix under the anonymity of a pseudonym and tell blatant lies. It is believable that a seasoned criminal attorney such as Mr. Sawyer would command a $15,000 fee. It is also believable that a Sulphur Springs attorney could be hired for much less. The remainder of this tirade, suggesting that our local DA or judges would take a bribe, is a total fallacy imagined by a delusional prevaricator.

im with you. i know some of these lawyers. they will charge you for services, but i dont believe the criminal system in lamar county is corrupt. although it does help to know some folks. no different from anywhere else. money is the biggest help for felonies.

Friday Law Firm of Suffering Springs recieved 8,000 from a auto wreck. I recieved 1,200 of it. They charged more and I took all the pictures and got all the police reports from OK. myself. over a 2 yr period. Said hospitals now put leins against any hospital bills and they must pay them, not you. The wreck was a cell phoning woman who drives her Tahoe in front of anyone while coming from the Casino at those cut threws along 271 N.
