I know Trevor Sartor and Brandon Taylor. I was in shock when I found out that they were two of the boys invovled in this. I would have never thought that they would have done something like this. They all three looked extra rough in the paper. I just would like to know what they were thinking.

I knew wicks, it is heartbreaking, as it is when any young person commits a life altering crime. You wonder what drove them to such extreme measures?

What drove them?-- maybe they're just mean and greedy. That kind of crime comes from a lack of moral character -- not an outside force.

its just sad. because i know the sartor family name has be slashed before, now again their name is in the media. all they can do now is just face the trouble that they are in. but i pray that they learn something from this and maybe they will be better people for it.

Seriously? A lack of moral character? Do you even know these kids? I know one of them personally! He may have had a moment of weakness, but to say he totally lacks moral character is a large accusation from a person who knows nothing about the situation. Maybe your moral character is a little lacking. You are the one criticizing the decision of young boys! I guess you are a perfect individual that has never made a mistake or made a poor decision.

There is so much wrong with what you’ve written, I don’t even know where to begin. First, actions are the ONLY way to judge character. A person who commits armed robbery OBVIOUSLY lacks moral character. All you need to know about “the situation” is that the person committed ARMED ROBBERY. Second, criticizing someone for committing ARMED ROBBERY does not indicate a lack of moral character. That’s ridiculous. We SHOULD criticize people who commit ARMED ROBBERY. ARMED ROBBERY is a very bad thing. It should not be put on par with minor mistakes or poor decisions. Everyone makes mistakes and poor decisions; very few people commit ARMED ROBBERY.

No, I don't know these kids, but I know what they did. Are you saying that a person who would fire a shotgun at another person in order to steal from him is a fine person? Look at the evidence. In my moments of weakness, I yell at the driver who cut me off, or I have a second piece of chocolate cake - armed robbery is NOT a moment of weakness. It requires planning and forethought, the kind of planning a forethought that would prevent a person with moral character from following through on their plans. I've made plenty of mistakes and poor decisions, but I never committed a felony.
