i heard one of the girls was paralyzed from the waist down permanently, one has a fractured back/neck and will recover and the other two girls only had minor or no injuries. We need to remember all four girls and their families in our prayers...

I'm not sure how many of you know
Denise, but I think most everyone has heard about the tragic accident that she
and three other Paris women were in on Friday. Denise is a 28 year old
mother of two beautiful little girls, 5 year old Jordan and 1 year old
Lauren. She was driving to Tyler in the rain on Friday. They were
going through a construction zone, near Athens, where a piece of the road had
been cut out and there were no cones or anything warning of the danger
ahead. She hit the hole and over corrected causing the Tahoe she was
driving to roll. She and her three passengers were all ejected from the
vehicle. They were not wearing their seatbelts, but it has been said that
if they were they would all be dead. Long story short, Denise's life was
forever changed at that moment. She suffered a broken back/spinal injury
and the doctors say there is 0% chance that she will ever walk again. She
was transported to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler where she underwent
surgery yesterday to insert three rods in her back so that she will be able to
sit up. She is supposed to be in ICU there for about 5 days and then be moved to
a private room, where they say she will be for about a month. At that
point she will be moved to a rehab facility where she will learn to get in and
out of the wheelchair to perform daily task, such as getting into a vehicle or
bed, etc. Her husband, Jeremy, will have to be off of work for an unknown
amount of time. And as you can imagine the medical bills will most
definitely be enormous. There has been an account set up for the family at
Lamar National Bank under her name. Please remember this family in
you thoughts and prayers. Please forward this to anyone you think will
pray for them and please add them to any prayer list or prayer chain that you
may be a part of.

The other three in the wreck -
Marcie Buster suffered some type of neck injury, Ashley Felts had a concussion
and is back in Paris, and Dusti Tidwell has a broken ankle. I have not
heard any update on Marcie, so I donít know if she is still in the hospital or
what.

This is a email that was sent out earlier in the week. Only thing I've heard since is Deanise is still in ICU in Tyler. They said yesterday that she has pneumonia and a UTI. She continues to be in good spirits. Please continue to keep Deanise and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Sorry to seem anti-sympathetic in such a bad incident, but I find this quote very hard to believe. Who was it that said they would have been killed, and what kind of background in medical or automobile crashes did they have that would make this comment valid. According to NTSA 2006 report 3 out of 4 people ejected from a vehicle die, and 99% of people who are buckled up in an accident remain in the vehicle. By looking at this report I would say that these ladies were VERY lucky.

I pray that all of the ladies involved make a speedy recovery to the fullest extent medically possible.
