TX Rep. Mark Homer’s,“Party in Paris”

After the night shift on November 28, 1992, Texas Rep. Mark Homer had several employees from his Sonic Drive-in restaurant over to his house for a party. Rep Homer and his guest were having a good time, drinking beer and raising hell.

One of Homer’s employees and late-night guest was 17-year-old car-hop Janeen Thomas. Janeen didn’t make it home from the party that night; she died in Rep. Mark Homer’s home from a .357 Magnum gunshot to the chest.

Janeen’s Mother, Diana Lopez, has been seeking an explanation. The Paris Police Department has covered up Rep. Homer’s crimes and sought protection from the Texas Attorney General.

Incredibly, the City of Paris says the mother of the deceased cannot get information about the circumstances of her daughter's death contained in the police report since the material is "highly intimate and embarrassing" and because "witness statements and interviews of individuals would be highly objectionable to a person of ordinary sensibilities."
Paris Police Department Case #224082.

Thats a shame that after 16 years, her mother can't have justice for the death of her daughter. I wonder how many cover-ups like this go on everyday in the world. I bet we all would be surprised if we really knew the number. God help the mother of this child find some Peace & Closure....

I new the girl and she dated a guy I new. She was a little wild but she seemed nice. I remember all this happening and it was pretty fishy. It just kinda went away. I wouldn't vote for the son of a bitch. Paris is a dirty little town. Always has been and always will be.

So they claimed she committed suicide? Why didn't someone stop her? Apparently others were present. Whose 357 magnum did it belong to? I am sure CW will love this one.

I was very close with this girl and (I for one wouldnt vote for him either but he wasnt even there). After Foster Care she moved back in with her mother (who right afterward was transfered to England on a KC job) left her home by herself and she moved into Marks house down from St. Joseph hospital. Her and her boyfriend were having and arguement as usual and she gave him a note and sed dont read it now or i'll shoot myself and he opened and then she did what she said but I personally dont think that she meant to kill herself. From what I remember I think she even said that before she died. very tragic and i loved her very much. But Mark WAS way too involved with some of his mior employees mainly girls. Not all of them but a select few.

This is not "proof." We don't know who wrote or when it was written. Anybody can write anything they want, true or untrue and put on the internet. Just read some of the threads on Topix!

I know absolutely nothing about this incident but the fact that this story is appearing four days before the election when Mark Homer has no way to respond makes it very, very suspicious in my book.

Just because something is printed on the internet hardly makes it true. Maybe something bad happened at Mark Homer's house and maybe it didn't. I have no idea but at this point it smells like a last-minute, political dirty trick by Kevin Hollingsworth. Will you still care about this story on Wednesday morning?

Actually, someone took the gun from her and put it up thinking she was only kidding. Then minutes later she gets the gun out of a drawer, laid in the bed next to her boyfriend Brandon with her back to him, shot herself in the chest and died shortly after. There was nothing to cover up other than a tragic suicide and its details. Very sorry for the family's loss, but she had friends who loved her and still think about her. And for the record the only people present at the time were her friends of the same age, so unless you know the story, dont be trying to tell it.

As this story relates to Homer, the only thing he did was perform a completely selfless, Christian act by allowing a homeless former employee to stay at a house which he owned in an effort to allow her to get her life straightened out. Unfortunately, it ended tragically.

His only involvement with this young lady 16 years ago was, in fact, in an effort to help her better herself.

The quotes in the first post regarding the “embarrassment” refer to an appeal by the City of Paris on an open records request. Governmental entities typically file an appeal on ANY open records request to limit their liability if it is determined information should not have been released. Mark Homer has specifically not joined in that appeal, and has no objection to all records being released.

Everyone connected is incredibly sad about the loss of such a young and promising life. And it is typical of the way Hollingsworth has conducted his entire campaign, to use someone’s tragedy for political gain.

What does this have to do with Homer? Was it his rent house? And how is the covering up if she did it herself, why is it his fault? You people are freaking idiots, how in the hell are you trying to link Homer to this. Quit trying to use this to further your political agenda. Just say you are not voting for him, there is no reason of trying to stretch a story that far out and blame him for a girl killing herself. It wasnt his fault, that is so obvious, who in the hell is dumb enough to believe he is tied to it. She killed herself, he wasnt even there. I love how people try to sway voters by saying im not voting for him because a girl once died and i blame him, hahaha, how dumb are you people!!! Your politics come through on your statements. You are not voting for Homer because you are a republican, and then you guys lie about why you are not voting for him. Just vote for the other guy and do not lie or make a stupid comment about a girl killing herself and a family that has went through hell coping with it to try to gain votes for your PARTY agenda. That is just a horrible thing to do. You people are scumbags.

Why the hell would I "love this"? Evidently a child was killed and her parents can't find out what happened because the good old boys cover each others azzes and money and a name talks n this corrupt town. It needs to be cleaned up. Almost ALL the public officials are corrupt and they didn't get that way overnight.
