I have really been hearing that this diet really works and a lot of people are having great results with it. Has anyone else heard this.

what kind of diet is it?

If you are willing to starve yourself for 42 consecutive days - it'll work fine. The diet is very strict and must be followed exactly to see any results. It is not cheap so be sure you are committed to losing the weight or you're just wasting your time and money.

It's a series of injections you give yourself of the HCG pregnancy hormone. When used correctly (and by that I mean following the diet exactly) you can lose up to 35 pounds in 60 days. The diet can be found online if you want to google it.

Why not just eat less and exercise more? It will take longer, but you're more likely to keep the weight off if you lose it slowly.

There is NO quick fix. Losing weight and keeping it off require relearning how/what to eat.

It's bad for you. Do the research before injecting yourself with a hormone that isn't supposed to be in your body unless you are pregnant.

Just like people that have gastric bypass, I think that is the p**** way out. Diet and exercise is the way to do it.

you give yourself 17-19 units every morning.. you're only allowed 500 calories, but with the shots you aren't that hungry.. i did the diet, but didn't like it. it gave me actual signs of pregnancy, as well as missing my monthly. it's a good diet, and you'll be sure to lose weight. it is quite expensive though. i quit the diet, in case you wanted to know. gave me horrible headaches and i couldn't handle only 500 calories.

HCG is a gonadotropin, or a hormone secreted in order to, among other things, stimulate the production of other hormones in the body. In the Human Male, there are two gonadotropins relevant to this topic. LH, or Leutinizing Hormone, which signals the testes to produce Testosterone, et. Al., and FSH, or Follicle Stimulating Hormone, which regulates hair growth, semen/sperm production, etc. HCG, in the Human Male acts as a master gonadotropin, so to speak, in that it does a fair job of stimulating production of all of the above, and is not subject to the same receptor indifference issues that is often found in post cycle steroid users, concerning LH. This fact makes hCG a fairly solid choice for temporarily restoring or raising testosterone levels. Testosterone, among many other uses is a proven muscle builder as well as a strong fat burner. On the other hand, testosterone interacts with the aromatase enzyme, and converts to estradiol, a very potent estrogen, which could lead to water retention, fat storage, and (in men)gynocomastia, or a development of breast tissue. Not to over simplify the issue, as there are numerous other considerations to be made, in terms of uses, side effects, etc., but I wonder what the releative long term affects will be on a subjects body composition.

after reading the original post, I looked up some info. the dosages of HCG on this diet are pretty low compared to what a woman produces when she is pregnant, and it's questionable (according to studies) whether at these levels the shots have any effect at all on body composition or fat burning. I suspect the 500 cal per day part of this diet is soley responsible for the weight loss.

Get out and walk and remember oil cooked foods have over twice the callories as the same weight of concentrated sugar products. Protein substitution in moderation is much better. Even though sugar in excess is not good for you or an excessive protein diet w/o moderately seasoned vegetables and bread. I don't think kids today have ADHD, it's just the amount of sugar they are getting. Once again another 3% increase in ADHD is diagnoses in schools. Even exercise doesn't burn that many callories, but the benifits from increasing your metabolism with moderate exercise works 24 hrs a day. Even while you sleep. Best rule is not to buy a lot of high callorie products. And then some people are just genetically going to be heavy and by passes and lap bands are a necessity to living a longer healthier life. Keep a routine, avoid buffets. Losing to fast and gaiing it back is never going to work, or magic supliments. Putting excessive hormones or vitamins in your body actually is hard on your liver and any benifits out WEIGH the stress your putting on yourself.

I just finished 40 days of the HCG diet and lost a total of 35.6 pounds! If you are really dedicated to the process, it was not hard to do. Whenever I first started, I planned to only do a round of 21 days but ended up completing an entire 40 day cycle. HCG helps to balance and retrain the hypothalamus to modify how fat is metabolized. If you are interested in the drops (Sublingual)for the HCG diet instead of the injections, you can email hcgproducts@gmail.com for a lady I know that sells in your area. She has just finished up a round of the diet herself and lost 26.2 pounds. She is very helpful and will provide you with informational packets to help assist with the entire process and phases. Hope this helps!:) The drops I think are sold for around $50.00 a bottle and last for about 20 days. If you were wanting to do the 40 days cycle you would need to purchase 2. Again, this would only be if you decided this method was right for you!

Ooops! Sorry I just read over my last post and I made a mistake. 1 bottle of HCG will last approximately 40 days when using 10 drops three times a day. Sorry for posting incorrect info.

Myself, I was not starved during the diet. I was able to find receipes and meal plans while on the HCG diet (just took a little research prior to starting). Again, I was only posting with my own experience and giving advice to anyone who felt that this diet was right for theirselves. Thanks again!

BTW, I have been off of the diet for almost 30 days now and I've actually lost .8 oz since my last day of the drops. I'm sure that people's body chemistry might take to this diet well and others might not. Most diets work that way.
